As a former breastfeeder when its baby's time to eat ya gotta go with the flow - cos the flow will come  no matter what -- and weren't the actors kids?  It may have been a sibling having lunch...

:D  And it kept the baby quiet.  Why the people who walked out didn't just keep their eyes on the play instead is beyond me.

I happened to call my Mom  yesterday morning, around 10 am,  and before I could even say "Hello" (she has  caller ID so she always knows who is calling before she picks up the phone), she started in right away; complaining about  how none of her three children had bothered to call her and wish her happy birthday...
 I explained:
1. It was only 10 AM , the day was young
2. I was actually on the phone, at the very moment, having just called her
3. It was not her birthday

#3 is scary.  Is your mother ok?

DR Kate - I just sent you a PM. However, DR George is much better at these things; he's even codified the steps into a handy set of instructions.   :)

Well, THAT'S interesting! If a post is too large, the new board automatically inserts a scroll bar!

This is the danish ring that DR Vixmom was posting:

And now they're saying that fish oil may INCREASE the risk of prostate cancer in men.

Honestly, I give up! Wait 5 minutes, and the conventional wisdom will be upended. Again.

And it was looking kind of Haboob-y last night, but alas, no haboob (or as we natives call them, "Dust storms").

Good news.

Love the stick of butter next to the Panera danish ring!!

Funny that it made me sick.  But then getting my eyes checked always gives me eyestrain which in turn makes me queasy.  I need to get off the computer which is making it worse.

Meanwhile, Ibuprofen has taken care of all possible discomfort from the surgery.  No swelling, either.

This is very good indeed!

DR Ron Pulliam - glad you made it through the procedure and are feeling better today.

Whilst you were undergoing oral surgery yesterday, someone (?) posted another baby photo of you. You may want to check it out.     :)

Ah, very funny, you bitch scamp, you!     ;)

I am very happy, the letter from my doctor has been accepted and I do not have to report for jury duty next week.  Hey, if I've got to suffer with medical problems at least some good can come out of it.  Of course I would rather do jury duty than have reasons not to.

I'm up.  I didn't get to sleep until two thanks to the Time Machine backup taking forever (don't like to put the computer to sleep until its finished) - I'm sure that's because I had to force eject it while we were doing all these tests, then it lost its connection, found it, etc.  And then, when it finally completed the backup and cleanup it didn't disappear from the desk top as it's supposed to, so I had to eject it manually.  It's doing something now and if it doesn't disappear automatically when it's done, then I'll need to call Apple again, but before I do that I'll try restarting the computer, since that seems to fix things occasionally.

Computer restart seems to have made the Time Machine disappear as it should have so after the next backup things should be back to normal.  Sprinklers have been reset again and should be going on now tomorrow as should be - I had him set them for nine instead of five in the morning, so I could see that they're working.  A couple of them have to be replaced so someone's coming tomorrow to do that.

For fun last night, I took out the JAY release of their "complete" Stop the World, I Want to Get Off.  I bought it when it first came out and my memory back then was that it was one of the worst recordings I'd ever heard - in every way, but especially technically.  I've amended that opinion to say it is THE worst recording I've ever heard of theater music.  It is, in a word, appalling.  The band sounds like it's in another stage - let me tell you that the job of a record producer isn't to show up and sit in the booth and listen to sound like that and say, "Good show."  You don't just set up a few mics and call that a recording.  The singers are blah, and the conducting is so perverse in terms of tempos and emphasis - all you have to do is listen to the original Broadway cast album - it, too, is not very well recorded, but the conducting is as it should be and at least when the singers aren't singing you can actually hear the band and the orchestrations.  Whoever produced the B'way version didn't baffle the singers, so when you bring them front and center the band just goes away.  Makes one appreciate all the more the pioneering work done by Goddard Lieberson back then.
