J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series, is revealed to be the author of crime novel The Cuckoo's Calling, recently published as the work of first-time author "Robert Galbraith."

I suspect the publisher leaked the news to increase sales.

Yes, before even though it got good reviews it had very few. Now it is #1 on amazon.com.

I'm watching the first season of MAJOR CRIMES, since I missed the first two episodes last year while I was in Dublin. I watched the first two and decided to continue until I got bored. I'm now on Disc2.

We have been enjoying the show very much.  There is now a new character we aren't too keen on.

I want to see this show so badly. I think so far they are only showing it on the superchannel that I don't get. I am hoping that they decide to show it on the same channel that the Closer was on but so far nothing. :(

BK, have posted a few things on Facebook.  If I get unfriended, that's fine.

I've never unfriended someone because of their posts.  I just go on to the next post, if it's something that I don't care for.  Everyone is entitled to their opinion.  For the most part, none of my friends have strong opinions that are very different than mine. ;)

I often find it funny to have one extreme to another within minutes of each other.

Methinks that's by design.

After the heat of my home in London it's good to be in an air-conditioned Hilton hotel room. Free unlimited wi fi as well.

Enjoy.

Good morning, all! I have been having a difficult time getting onto HHW after reading this morning's notes, but here I am.

DR JohnG, belated 80th birthday greetings to your ma. I wish that my family had thrown a big bash for my dad when he turned 80; we only had five more years with him after that.

I wish my sister and I had not been so self-absorbed, and had give our mother a big 75th Birthday party.  She would have claimed it was embarrassing and too much trouble, but it would have been a wonderful day for her and a beautiful memory for us.

Sadly we can't go back but I'm sure you were loving in other ways.

You look very handsome.  I've been meaning to change back as well.

Unknown authors don't generate many sales. I can understand that Ms Rowling didn't want it "confused" with another Harry Potter and chose this route instead. I read in an interview with her that her agent was in on it and they really tried to keep the news of the real author from coming out.

I must have missed them.

They were comments to other friends posts.  I'm not going to post unless someone else starts the conversation.  I'm about done with that too

I understand that.

If breakfast + lunch = brunch, then what is lunch + dinner? Linner? Lunner?

Whatever it is, I'm hungry for it.

OMG is it hot and humid here today!

Although i'm sure it's nothing compared to what DR Laura feels in the summer.

Dry heat is different that humid heat.

Good afternoon. Wae-Ling was very happy to see that her photo was the bulletin cover for this week.

Did I miss the photo & bulletin news?

I'm surprised it didn't continue in place of THE CLOSER.

If they want an annoying character she didn't have to be so stupid-lol

Or the actress could be better.  I think she is supposed to be getting more laughs.

I also built one of those 9 cubby hole shelves and put it in room with the sliding glass door to cover up a place I had to cut the dry wall off when I had water down there a couple years ago.   Looks much better

I also ran a cable line into that room so I could listen for the verdict last night. It was really enjoyable.

I am currently watching Bobby and Cissy dance to The Warsaw Concerto.  :D

Today I played with a part of our All America Concert Band for the dedication of a veteran's memorial at a place called Trinity Heights.  It was hot but could have been worse.
