Considering my marriage, it was an odd choice of topic for me to write about, although I do believe that it can work.

My brother is now officially a part time Magistrate. It's like a Justice of the Peace.   It's a great gig, he can keep his law practice and be a judge part time.   There isn't that much work for a magistrate to do in my home town so it should work out well for him.   I'm excited for him

Looking forward to having the time to get together with a few friends I haven't seen in a long time.  I'm also planning to go to some of the museums in town.  We have an air museum, a railroad museum, the Lewis and Clark interpretive center, the public museum and the art museum...oh and the Nature Center.   I never seem to get to any of them when I have a weekend.   I'd also like to finish scrubbing and painting the room I started.   And I do have to go to my home town and speak to Rotary about immigration, but that's just a lunch meeting and it will be a good excuse to spend time with mom and dad.

On the other hand, I want to sleep and read books.   We'll see what wins. :)

So, I survived July, including all the fireworks, turning into Maxine the crabby neighbor, the one year anniversary of my car accident, and just a ton of really irritating things.  Haven't been sleeping well so I'm a real crab apple most of the time.  I'm so happy it's now August and we're one month closer to the end of summer.  I really don't like summer

There's a TCM CRUISE coming up in December.

I would love to go!

I bet the movies on that cruise will be excellent.

Are they having any former stars on the cruise?

Jane Powell, Robert Wagner, and Theodore Bikel so far.  More to come.

Keep us posted :)  Where is the ship cruising?
Carribbean, out of Miami on Disney Cruise Lines.  See here to keep up with the details as they develop.  I'd be tempted myself, but I'm actually booked on a different vacation during part of that period.

I am home from a very interesting afternoon at the NYPL. Imogene Coca played "Baby Face" in the tryout of GOWNS BY ROBERTA at the Forrest Theater, Philadelphia, Oct. 21-November 4, 1933. At some point, before the Broadway opening on Nov. 18, she was written out when the entire first scene was torn apart and rebuilt.

It couldn't have happened to a better person!

I do believe the Joan Collins/Shirley Jones thing is pure press agent horse manure - no one has sent a cease and desist to anyone.

Maybe Joan is creating controversy to help it sell. ;)

I would believe anything about Joan, except that she slept with Farley.

T.O.D.

I think I would have to try to revive SHERRY.  And I would have to play the lead - if I could figure out how to do the one little dance when he gets out of the wheelchair.  Hmmmm!

Our former DR Jed has posted on Facebook that he is married to a college professor; either he's left our E&T DR Ann or she's got a new job.

I'm afraid I wouldn't know.

Our biggest wild fire in Eastern Washington has now grown to 125 square miles.  Hopefully, no more lightening.

I would like to sign up for the DR TCB Cruise.

I am afraid that ship sank at the pier.

Well, I must be going.  A coworker and friend is in an outdoor production of "Julius Caesar."  We pay by donation and we have to bring our own chairs if we don't want to sit on the hard gravel.  I actually remembered to put a chair in my car this morning, so I'm set. :)

Be back later!

I saw the show in my own chair (and it wasn't on gravel, there were level concrete "steps" about five or six feet deep) and it quite good.  They had simple costumes and minimal props.  The weather was slightly overcast at first, then less overcast and sunny, then completely overcast and it really did seem like it would rain, but no rain happened.  It got cool by the second hour but not very cold.  The show lasted about 2 hours and 15 minutes with no intermission.

For the most part, everyone could be heard.  One woman behind me complained that Brutus couldn't be heard too well.  I didn't have any trouble hearing her.  Brutus was played by a woman as a woman and had a husband named Portia, not a wife.  They did other gender switchings.  Antony was also played by a woman.  I don't know if any of the other characters were switched, but they did have several other women in the cast.
