Watching a Burt Bacharach special on PBS.  They're showing a very young Karen Carpenter singing Close to You.

So sorry to hear this news, DR elmore3003. You do NOT need this with your upcoming work trip. Hope that the issues can be successfully resolved in order not to impede your plans.

I have listened to classical music more over my lifetime that even show music, but Milhaud has escaped me. I should remedy that.

I am home from the ER of St Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital at 113th and Amsterdam. The doctor said what I suspected: sciatica, of some sort., plus my hamstring muscles need a week of solid stretching and exercise.

Those of you around long enough may remember that I had this o something similar in 2004, at the same time as the dreadful perianal abscess that required two surgeries, and again in 2008; it waited five years this time. Both times I was on crutches for about four weeks.  I suspect it's a case of sitting incorrectly and twisting into contortions while examining notes, cutting and pasting, and hunching over large sheets of manuscript.  So, I cannot stand upright at the moment, and I am only comfortable walking like Richard III with my cane. I'd prefer this happen now than in Dublin, and I am armed with prescriptions for Tylenol with codeine and a muscle relaxant. Before I left, they gave me a Percodin (I think) and I am going to bed as soon as I hear from my doctor and talk to my brother Randy.

Keith and I worked at the Bruin Theater when "You’re a Big Boy Now" played there.  We never got tired of watching it.

Larry, so sorry to hear about your sciatica. I hope things get better quickly. Dublin, even in a recording studio, is a wonderful place so perhaps that will help in your recovery. If not, drink lots of Guinness!

Hello, everyone.

MEGA VIBES TO LARRY FOR MUSCLE RELAXATION!!

I know you don't have time for this before your trip, but there's an excellent book on stretching by Bob Anderson, called simply STRETCHING. It's a real classic and very easy to follow. Highly recommended.

My doctor called while I was in the bath; I wanted to see if I could get easily in and out of the tub, and I really needed a bath!  She has not called me back, so I will send her an email and head for bed

Top of that, my Uncle Harold, who married my mother's sister Lois, died today. He was a wonderful man, and I loved him very much.

Nice review of last Sunday's Kritzerland show:

http://www.edgeonthenet.com/index.php?ch=entertainment&sc=music&sc2=reviews&sc3=performance&id=147026

Very flattering review. But PAST MY PRIME is from LI'L ABNER. The reviewer seems to think that Bruce's choice of songs may have been due to political correctness. He doesn't know BK!!

DR MBarnum the air quality in Medford has gone from "sensitive only" to "unhealthy" which was the same for Ashland until we improved to moderate this afternoon.

Grants Pass near the fires went from "unhealthy", skipping very unhealthy, to "hazardous.

Jane, that smoke can't be healthy. Do you have an air filter of some sort in your house?
