Last night, we had rehearsal for "Hollywood Who Done It?"  We worked most of act two and got through it fairly well.  I really need to buckle down, Winsocki and really work on memorizing my lines.  I have a couple of scenes where the dialogue goes back and forth very quickly, so those scenes will need more work.  But the show is coming together quite nicely and I think that it'll be very well received.  It's a fun show and rehearsals have been fun, too.  I can't wait to see how the audiences respond. :D

Yes, the Hanson symphonies are delights. I also like the piano concerto, "Mosaics."

Good morning, all! I slept rather well last night,given that I  was on drugs.  I was given a Percodin around 8:30, and I was in bed by 10:00. Around 1:30am I woke, used the bathroom and took and ibuprofen and a flexerill, and slept until i this morning. I slept in till a little past 8, and I will shortly head for the pharmacy to fill these two prescriptions before the Big Meeting at 11. As soon as it's over, I'll head for home.

Good morning, all.

Thanks to Benadryl, I got a pretty solid sleep.  The night, however, was warmer than the previous few nights, and we almost could have used some AC.  I'll probably be turning that on today, to dry the place out and to hopefully help cut down on the allergy sneezing.  Which I'm really hoping doesn't torture me today like it has the past two days.

I read "32" with great interest, admiration, and envy.  I would say I've been in exactly the same boat, and need to transition from and to those same sizes and weights.  I've taken a few stabs at it this year, but am far too self-indulgent, and I know the exercise thing in particular is a huge change that has to be made, for all the good reasons.  It really is time for some change, and BK has set one hell of an example.

Oddly, I have no solid memory of when I first saw ALIEN NATION.  I feel like it might have been the TV series first, then catching up with the movie much later.  Regardless, I'll have to watch it again.  Knowing there's some good usage of 1988 L.A. in it will help speed my way to it.

Those '80s synth scores are something else.  Sometimes they work, other times they're just hilarious.  As it happens, unlike with films from many other periods, I don't ever seem to retain the sound of those movies, so they're always a surprise to me when I go back to them.

I don't think I've mentioned that I'm heading into upstate/western New York tomorrow to spend a couple of days hanging around this event:

I've been hearing about this beautifully preserved theater for some time now, but have never gone up to see it.  This annual festival of theirs gets a lot of attention, and now that I know a few of the people involved and/or close to it, now is the time.  I met assistant manager Jack Theakston when I went up to Rochester last summer for a showing at the George Eastman House.  He's very dedicated to the art of film presentation done right, and is a killer researcher on various aspects of that.  As is his friend Bob Furmanek, a real expert on classic 3-D films.  Bob lives in New Jersey and he's going to ride up with me, which will be great, because although we get to chat a lot on the HTF, there's always plenty of wonderful stuff to talk about and ketchup on.

So, I'll be E&T tomorrow morning and afternoon, and back online later in the day.
