I must wade into the 100+ horror that is happening outside. I hope I don't melt.

I don't know when this happened, but I just learned that Karen Black has died at age 74 of cancer.

RIP, dear!

Here's what I've been doing this afternoon:

This is my first-ever IKEA purchase and I put it together all by myself!

I'm impressed DR Ginny. What is it?  ;D

It's my at-home answer to a library book truck.  When doing household projects like cleaning out closets, I've often thought, "I need a book truck!"

So, are you ready to come assemble one for me? I'll pay in barbecue. :)

Deal!

TOD:

Beverly Hills Cop

Interesting but sad story.  My friends brother did some of the music for this movie.

Unfortunately, He died of AIDS.  One of the first persons to be diagnosed and die from it.

His family still gets residuals every time the movie is shown!

His name is in the credits at the end of the movie!

I got to swim laps at the outdoor pool today. I think this is one of the first times this summer when I have swam laps continuously. On the weekends there is no lap lane up. And usually i have my nieces so i can't just leave them and swim. It felt so good.

Last night my niece was in a swim meet. ANd it rained. :(

There was one 20 minute break due to lightning. And then one period where it rained, then poured, then rained. Then it stopped. At least it was warm out and i had an umbrella.

Nice DR Jennifer.  I wanted to go today but since there were only two lanes open for an hour I decided to wait until another day.

Today I went to a Consignment shop  with some of my clothing and purses.  I received cash on the spot.

I went home and went through more items.  I will make another trip to the store called Clothes Mentor.

I feel good earning some money.  This is my new job!

Reminds me of all the storms during Little League games we had to wait out until the game could continue or enough time had lapsed that the game was called.

DR Jennifer why were you standing out during a lightening storm with an umbrella?  We got into our cars or stood under trees, no umbrellas.

Nice DR Jennifer.  I wanted to go today but since there were only two lanes open for an hour I decided to wait until another day.

It felt good. I raced my niece and managed to beat her in all 4 strokes. I was wondering if I still would be able to since she is getting faster. Her best stroke is backstroke, but since i'm so much bigger I was faster. The one stroke where she was closest was actually front crawl.

One of the male lifeguards was swimming for a few minutes in the same lane. Wow, he races and could probably do two laps to my one.  HE can do two laps in under 30 seconds.

No i wasn't standing out during a lightning storm. They ref just saw one flash and had to call a 20 minute break. IT was not raining then and did not thunder or lightning then. IT was probably an hour later when it rained. And it was just rain.

My thighs are so sore. My 4 year old niece has decided that she loves going off of the diving board. But she is only a so-so swimmer. So i've been standing on the steps of the diving pool just in case she needed me. Going up and down those steps so many times has made my muscles sore.
