THE DEAD CIRCUS isn't exactly a "Charles Manson" movie.  It was described as a L.A. noir.  The book actually begins in 1980, well after Helter Skelter.

Just read the hyperbolic review in the NY Times - the reviewer LOVED the book, but the review is more about the reviewer than the book, methinks.  It sounds like warmed over Ellroy to me.

Hello. I spent a nice day up north looking for bugs and things.

Very nice pictures, Laura!

Good morning, all! I have to run several errands this morning - pharmacy, Verizon, and bank - and I will come home and assess the pains and possible damage I might have done myself.  After that, I may begin packing and  determine which luggage might behest.

DR Jane, I had prescriptions for Tylenol with codeine and a prescription for a muscle relaxant not one prescription containing both.

Okay. I'm off to the wilds of Manhattan.

Elmore, my friend, if I don't catch you tomorrow, have a safe and hopefully pain-free trip.  Please tell your friend, Kim that your other friend, TCB, thinks she is terrific!!

DITTO!!!

DITTO AND DITTO!!  Have a safe trip and I LOVE KIM CRISWELL!! :D

I have thought the conclusions to several King novels, beginning with It have dreadful endings. Much as I like his earlier novels, I've stopped reading him.  I haven't watched any of Under the Dome, but I'm thinking about reading the novel.

I am enjoying 11/22/63.  I must say that I am reading it a rather sluggish pace, but it is well written, and the story fascinates me.

11//22/63 I will read at some point - people I completely trust about King say it was a real return to form.

Hmm...maybe I should check it out, too.
