The seniors are patrolling the walking paths on ATVs. DR Jane, maybe they would take you for a ride! ;)

;D  That sounds about the right speed for me.

Are they patrolling to keep them safe?

I am trying to spend less time on the computer and more time in motion which is why I've been on the couch reading.

I did not win the Powerball and lost my entire $5 investment in a scratch off ticket as well.

Print runs for new authors, if the publisher thinks it won't be a runaway best seller, would probably be in the 2500 range these days.

Thank you, Bruce.

I had the pleasure of going with my father to Heifetz's last performance before he retired.

WOW!!

Ditto. I would have loved to have been there. I did see Segovia in person many moons ago. That was very nice.

So did any DRs win the Powerball drawing?

Exactly what I was wondering.

Better than I am. :)

I will be serious about it the rest of the week.  I have much to do around here.

So, here was the shot from my friend's backyard as we were having Bible study tonight.

For a time there, all I wanted to do was to watch the birdy. I could get out the backdoor, but I couldn't get within 40 feet to get better photo.

Yes, big wow! I was fortunate enough to have been in the audience at Tanglewood for Bernstein's last concert. Judy Kaye sang Arias and Barcarolles, but Bernstein was too tired to conduct it. He did lead a masterful Beethoven's Seventh as well as Britten's Seascapes. Glad there's a recording of that day.

Yes, they are working with the police.  Not sure what they would do if they actually happened on something, but their presence is a good thing

We have them all over town.  Sometimes you have to stop to let them cross the road.....even if they don't tell you why.

Cool, Cillaliz. Hadn't seen one in town before. Next door was a cat who sat transfixed by the turkey. He wasn't going anywhere near that, but he wanted to.

DR Laura I would like to have seen Steve & Eydie in person.

I saw them in Las Vegas in '74 or '75.  I always thought Steve Lawrence was one of the most handsome singers of his day.

DR Jane:  When and where was the Heifetz concert?

Inquiring minds must know!  If the one I'm thinking of was, in fact, his last public appearance, then guess who else was in that audience!

It might not be the same event, but I remember being under the impression that it had been his first appearance in a while, and that it turned out to be his last -- the last "big" one, at any rate.

Had a great weekend being introduced to a whole roster of movies I had never seen, from the silent era into the 1930s.  Some crazy stuff, to be sure, but also some wonderful stuff.  And the theater is incredible.  I'll go back next year if I can spare the weekend again.

Met a lot of -- not just film "buffs", but real die-hard collectors.  I've always wished I'd gotten the film collecting bug way back in the day.  Second best, though, could be just knowing those who did, and who have tons of great stuff to share.

I am watching the PBS Girl Group Pledgedriver.  I am listening to Leslie Gore singing "You Don't Own Me" and I'm thinking, "Oh yeah, I had that 45."  But Wait!  I had the 45 of that song, but mine was sung by Patty Duke!  WTF?
