For me, BODY DOUBLE is a guilty pleasure.

It's very enjoyable...if you take off your thinking cap.

I like DRESSED TO KILL, but I despise DePalma's SCARFACE.

I much prefer the original classic with Paul Muni.

"Bus and Truck" is a cute number, BK.

Have you ever considered actually writing/staging a show called BUS AND TRUCK?

Wednesday morning greetings!  It is blessedly cool here - perfect for the first day of school.

I've been up since shortly after 7, drinking coffee and finishing Salmon Fishing in the Yemen for tomorrow night's book discussion.  We're having our annual potluck dinner and movie night.

Pitching woo.  Does one also catch woo?

Yes, but then you are in real trouble.

An "Ask Bk" item:

Bruce knows all too well how students of film music (i.e. musicians AND fans) are attuned to the styles of various film music composers.   We could do a "Name That Tune" contest and identify composers by two or three notes...and the scores by an additional several notes, probably.

This is not about that, but it's close to that.

Last night, I had a dream.  I'm not one to relay dreams here at HainesHisWay, but this one was rather odd and I thought I'd share it with (and "ask") BK.

In my dream, I am reunited with some college friends and we're having a great deal of fun talking about old times.   During this dream, one of my friends -- who has spent his life in liturgical music -- proposes we play a game sort of like "Name That Tune".  The twist is that we dont' name that tune but we sing that tune.

My turn comes, my friend draws a slip of paper out of a bag, and tells me to sing "The Yarmulke Song".

!!

??

In the dream, I'm confident I know what "The Yarmulke Song" is and I begin to think of the pitch on which it starts.*

And then I woke up.

And I don't know a "Yarmulke" song.

I've never heard of one.

So, BK:  I'm wondering if there is such a song.

*My best guess is that I was going to sing the Hanukkah song and substitute "Yarmulke" for "Hanukkah".

Loved the parallel you pointed out for "pitching woo".

Now:  Can you you look in a mirror and say "Witchie Poo" six times?

Ask BK:

So, what is your favorite Alan and Marilyn Bergman song?

Maybe You Must Believe in Spring - but maybe On My Way to You.

I think bk should write one, pronto!  I mean, he doesn't have anything else much going on.    ;)

MBarnum!!! Charles Phoenix has a new recipe!!!!!  BAMBROSIANANA

I just love Charles! I think that he and I would get along very well!

I also think that DR Sandra should apply as his apprentice. They would work quite well together in the kitchen and on video.

Lovely photos from DR LAURA.

DR RLP the Dream-O-Matic says that your dream indicates your wish to reconnect with those from your past especially those with whom you may have had conflicts or disagreements.  Being chosen to sing the YARMULKE song and being sure that you know it says that you are confident in your ability to accomplish a new task or duty recently handed you with very little guidance or instruction.
