Good morning, all! Today we finish up, and I think the stress of working fifteen days straight has worn us down a bit. The orchestra has been blowing and scraping their brains out for six straight days, and we all need a break. If I'd realized this months ago, I would have asked for a recording schedule of two days, a day off, and then two more days. Anyway, this morning we do only the orchestra sections of the score, and this afternoon we get the seven-piece stage combo - alto sax, trumpet, trombone, piano, tuba, guitar-banjo, and drums.
Jason and Kim will finish up today with their numbers with this group. Tonight our principal violin, Fionnuala Hunt, is having us all over for dinner, and tomorrow morning we're off to the airport. I'll be begging for safe travel vibes tomorrow!
DRvixmom, we are recording in Dublin because in 2011 the foundation wanted to do Victor Herbert's Irish operetta EILEEN with a British-Irish cast; we've liked the rapport with our Dublin production team, and the orchestra is excellent.
