From yesterday:
Another thing that was really cool was that the bartender, who will work the pre-show and intermission for the whole run created drinks for all the characters!  I actually had TWO drinks named after my characters...the Kershaw Cosmo and the Maxwell Mudslide.  However, my acting partner, Guy, didn't have any drink named for his characters, so I suggested to the bartender that she change "Maxwell Mudslide" to "Matthews Mudslide," to be fair.  She said she tried to make sure that everyone had a drink and would change the menu for the rest of the run.  She just has to make the change on her computer and reprint the menu.  Easy as pie!  I had the soon-to-be-named Matthews Mudslide and it was good.  I thought that it needed a little more chocolate and less alcohol, but that's just me. ;)

Well, I found out why I had two drinks named after me...it turns out that they screwed up the character names in the program for Guy and I, and I'm listed as Matthews/Kershaw and Guy is listed as Maxwell/Stycks.  That explains why I seemed to have had two drinks named for me.  I really didn't.  But we're not changing our lines or renaming our characters.  They screwed up the program and the board in the lobby with everyone's bios.  There are too many references throughout the script to have everyone involved change their lines.  Hopefully, the program and cast board will get fixed, but if they don't, oh, well.

Re: FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER.  I've just got the Arrow Blu-ray as well. Excellent film and it looks fabulous. The dialogue by Richard Matheson is wonderfully poetic. As I've said before, the Roger Corman, Edgar Allan Poe adaptations are vastly superior to the more crude and obvious Hammer horror films.

Larry, so sorry to hear about the flare up with the back pain again (you may not see this if you're flat on your painful back).

Good morning, all.

I awoke under the impression that it was a regular old Tuesday, and finally realized the error of my ways.  I'd guess it's time - perhaps even High Time - for some coffee.

The Corman Poe films are a very special group of movies for me.  I'm biding my time to see how the Price collection is reviewed, then one way or another, I'm there, baby.

It is crazy that it is September 1st.  My niece started school on Thursday. The senior school is grades 3-6. So new school. And all new classes (she has the same class grades 1-2 and a lot of the same people for kindergarten). So a lot of changes.  And apparently a lot more homework. :(

This is the last weekend for the pool. Tomorrow is supposed to be rainy. So today will be the last day we go. :(

I like that my pool is indoors and open all year.  I am not happy that for the second time it is closed for maintenance while Eleanor is here.  I was looking forward to taking her swimming.

I will never get used to classes beginning before Labor day here.  Craig was happy to return to work.  I hope he always feels that way.

Wishes for a good and fun 3rd year!

BK,

Interesting that you should write about Roger Corman in your blog today.

I'm currently working on a promotional trailer for a friend who has written a book about Roger.
