I've never had cable TV--ever. I would have loved to have had BBC America, but it was just too expensive. I use Netflix--MUCH cheaper than cable--and my computer. I don't have time to watch everything that's available to me. It means watching some shows a season behind, but I can live with that.

And Amazon Prime is cheaper per year than cable is by the month; and you get thousands of choices.

I don't think most people realize what an unfriendly world we live in when we're not fully ambulatory.

I agree with you on that!

Am in a motel in Marshall, TX, which is further than I thought it would be. Driving in 103-degree heat is not fun.

With who??

DP Kismet is better. Still on the meds and special food. I told he could go play with other dogs today but keep an eye out for him.

That must be tough, Mike; being away from Kismet when he is not well.  MY thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery.

I guess I really wanted Mike to know that they were MY thoughts and prayers

Did anyone catch this week's HOT IN CLEVELAND? Along with regulars Betty White and Georgia Engel, it had guest stars Mary Tyler-Moore, Valerie Harper, and Cloris Leachman. I tell you it was the funniest half hour I have spent in a long, long time!

Cloris Leachman, in particular, was an absolute riot...and this is coming from someone who was never a Cloris Leachman fan!

I'm looking forward to seeing that one.

I understand that MTM had to be brought onto the set behinds curtains, because she is now suffering problems walking brought on by her diabetes.

How are you feeling, TCB?

A little better, I guess.  Thank you for asking, John.  Now I have the added emotional distress of
whether or not to attend my high school reunion tomorrow evening,

Why not? Did you like your classmates?

Not really, but I also am a little embarrassed to have the ones I did like see me in a wheelchair.

For the past week we have had crazy weather.  Normally, in Western Washington, when we have thunder and lightening we get about half a dozen bolts of lightening followed by not really close thunder claps.  Last evening they said we were having 500 lightening strikes an hour in Western Washington.  And I believe I heard that down around where George lives, they had over 4 inches of rain in twenty four hours.

And next week it goes back into the 80's.

Been reading a compelling work of non-fiction that reads exactly like fiction - that it's true is horrifying.

I just checked and the bank dropped the disputed $1,200 charge. And in two days. I can breathe a little easier.

Great news, John!!

Good evening.  It's been quite a week.  It's hotter than hell here and that makes me ill (literally) on top of that I've had a stomach and head ache for a couple days.  Today Edith was arguing or making snide comments about everything I said.  I have no idea why, but I did not have the patience for it and was quite annoyed.   I stayed home and missed a party tonight.  I wanted to go, but I'm just barely starting to feel better and it was an outside party.

I didn't read/hear about any stats, but yes, it was amazing!

Well, it's theater time again!  Tonight, my parents are coming to see the show and are using my comp tickets...so that means that they get the meal, the dessert, the wine, the show, the pre-show entertainment and the intermission entertainment all for FREE and everyone else has to pay $75 per person for the privilege. :D

Be back later!

Well, we had a very good show tonight.  My parents really enjoyed it!  They really liked the meal, too.  Also, my dad was one of about six to be called up to the middle of the room during the intermission to play games (movie trivia, I think) and he won a dinner for two at the actual Pellegrino's restaurant AND he also won one of the door prizes, which was a bag of ground coffee!  Score!!  I got to talk to them after the show, so that was fun. :)

The only problem for me was on my next to the last exit (my last exit as the producer), I ran too quickly and pull a hamstring muscle.  I felt that as I was exiting and was hobbling a bit for the last scene.  I've been keeping it stretched out (someone told me that I should do that) and I took some ibuprofen.  So far, it's not been too bad, but I'm sure that it'll be worse in the morning.  I was planning on going to work for a couple of hours, but we'll see how I feel when I wake up.

Also tomorrow, my friends Rick and Scott are getting legally married!!  They've been together for more than 24 years and they finally can make it legal! It all starts at 3:00, but I have to be at the show before 7:00, so I hope that that's plenty of time for everything.

For their gift, they had links to contribute to a couple of different charities or money for their honeymoon (a week in a hotel in Oregon that has rooms named after various authors), so that's what I chose...some cash for their trip. :)
