Daughter will be back in a few days for the next phase, then the ordeal will all be done about ten days after that.

Getting near the end, what a relief.  Is she handling it ok?

Whichever female singers we go with we're hoping to keep it to people based in LA - that makes doing the concert version easier.

Just got a piece of mail from Lady M; it seems to me the Macbeths are trying hard to make amends for their appalling behavior in 2007.  Timeo Danaos et dona ferentes!

 :o

If they were Jewish I would suspect they were trying to atone for their sins in honor of Yom Kippur.

Speaking of book covers, here's what I think will be my book cover.

21st CENTURY OLDIES
Volume 1:  Turn Defeat Around
PARODY LYRICS - CATEGORIES FROM A TO B

Sing-along parody lyrics by Fred Landau
21st century current events sung to the tune of classic popular music

Nice cover, FJL!

Awhile back I believe DR Jennifer suggested Keith get a library card.  I think it is time to do so.  The book I need to read for my November book group is only available with a Kindle so I would be downloading it to his iPad anyway.  Frustrating is until I put a hold on the book I don't know how many people are in the queue and I don't have anymore room on my hold list.

DR George do you know how many holds your library permits for eBooks?  Six just seems too few in my opinion, especially when the books take so darn long to become available.

Get Keith a card and use it!

One of the contestants from the upcoming season of SURVIVOR, who lives here in Salem, is holding a garage sale. In fact she is advertising it as such. ;D

She was a contestant on a previous season, but I can't think of her name. As she was never a favorite of mine, I don't have any inclination to go to the sale...besides, looking at the craigslist ad she isn't selling anything that I need or want.

I think her names is Laura.  That would be cool though to talk to her about the show.

I just got an email about a new musical by John Kander, starring David Hyde Pierce.   It's called The Landing.  Has anyone heard anything about it?

Each patron is allowed up to eight holds, but there isn't a limit to the number of holds that a title may accrue.  The other factor is that each patron can determine his or her check-out period:  7 days, 14, days or 21 days.  I chose 7 days because I don't keep my Wi-Fi turned on, so even though the next patron can get the title after my 7 days are up, the books don't automatically delete from my Kindle when the 7 days are up.  I can continue to download additional titles through my computer and keep them...practically forever. :D

I would be happy with 10 holds.  It would be easier to keep a couple available to add books I need for my book group that I can't wait for.

I don't understand why Kindle books don't have a return to the library option that Nook books have.  Had I realized I was downloading a Kindle book I would have reduced the number of days from 21 to 7.

How many physical books does your library let you put on hold?  I know some libraries have limits. I think mine is limitless. Don't know about ebooks because they don't lend to nook or kindle only kobo.

I think 6 is ridiculous, especially if you are waiting so long. I think you should be allowed at least 20 and if they don't want you to have so many ebooks out at the same time they could say that you will be skipped if you already have a certain number of ebooks out.

I am not really sure about the nook vs kindle difference. Interesting.

I'm not sure what the limit is for holds on regular books is.  I never reached it and I had loads of holds.

Originally our library only had Nook books.  More & more I'm seeing Kindle and many of those are Kindle only books.

Well, it's time for me to go to the theater for the first of the last two performances of "Hollywood Who Done It"!  First though, I have to stop at home and get my t-shirt.  Last night on the way home from Seattle, we stopped off at our costumer's house (she's and the director are married) and picked up the costumes that she washed.  I'm going to bring them since neither of them will be at the show tonight.  They live in Tacoma, so it was on the way.

Until later!

DR Jane or anyone who likes Lisa Gardner the author.

Her new book called Maggie's Man written previously under the name Alicia Scott is on sale today (not sure for how long). She posted that the ebook is $2.99 on nook and kindle.

I'm trying to decide whether to get it today or not. I did request it at my library but they didn't buy it yet. I imagine they will (since they have all her other books). I have a ton of gift cards from amazon. But just trying to decide whether to get it.

As best she can under the circumstances - at this point, I think she just wants it to be done.

Concert version, BK? When might that be?

Believe me, you will be the FIRST to know - but before that, you'd best book your ticket to the November Kritzerland show - Brent's doing that and is it going to be FUN.

I'm flattered!   As for the November show, I booked my flight!  I didn't know reservations were being taken already.  I'll call.  My friends who live in the area are going too!
