MISSING DOWNBEATS AND ACCENTS

Well, you've read the notes, the notes had no missing downbeats or accents, and now it is time for you to post until the missing cows come home.

Oy!  HORRIFIED to hear of the missing downbeats and accents.  That's original sin, man.  Even if you're sight reading, even if you flub some notes or chords, the beat must go on.  I just went back and watched the video, and I am NOT patting mine own self on the back for thinking that song would be a piece of cake, and a lot of fun, to play after a run-through or two.  He's turning a lot of pages so it's obviously all written out.  Would love to see the chart.  Oy!

BK:  Is your other player the Oppo 93?  Which region "mod" do you have?  Mine's the one that plugs in either on the back or inside, and I have it on the back.  You do the code-and-restart thing to change BD regions, and it's always all-region for DVDs.

Equus
Here's Lucy (as himself)

Should have one at least one oscar for these films but lost to a comedic performance each time. (Nothing against them)

Another Fav is Where Eagles Dare

Then he did a slew of godawful films too in between these

Exorcist II one of the worst films ever made despite who was in
Hamersmith is Out
The Medusa Touch
The Klansman
Boom
Bluebard

TOD

There's probably no Burton role I don't like, but the core favorites would be:

The Night of the Iguana
The Spy Who Came in from the Cold
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
Equus
1984

And for a little Shakespeare:

Hamlet
The Taming of the Shrew

I never saw THE SPY WHO CAME IN FROM THE COLD back in the day.  At some point in the late 1980s, something prompted me to read the book, and I loved it.  Then of course there was no way I couldn't immediately see the film.  I rented it on VHS and loved it, too.  Years later I watched the Criterion DVD once, but that's been a while now so I'm saving myself for the Blu-ray.  I love Cold War stuff like this, anyway, but le Carre is surely at the top of the heap.

Good morning, all! I forced myself to be out of bed by 8:30, although I wish I were back there at the moment.

This morning I have physical therapy at 11, and I need it; my left leg drove me mad most of the night. I was debating a laundry attempt this afternoon, but it honestly depends on how I feel after PT and how my walking goes.

I'm watching the news about the Washington Navy Yard incident, which is a hell of a lot more exciting than any spy movie.

Shooter is injured!

Scary stuff in Washington. The Post says there are two other gunmen. What's happened with them?

Good Morning Everyone:

I just called brother KevinH regarding the Washington Navy yard shooting.

He says he is about 4 miles away.  I told him not to go out for lunch today and be carefull.

The news says there still could be more shooters.

I like Richard Burton but I don't think I have seen any of his spy movies.

Other spy Movies:

The Manchurian Candidate
Notorious
North by Northwest
The 39 Steps
ARGO
