Well, you've read the notes, the notes were the head cheese of notes, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're having nothing to do with head cheese for good reason.

Had my first ever flu jab today. The doctor's office phoned up and asked if I wanted one, (I've gone a few years past the age when they recommend patients start having them) so I thought why not?

I saw THE OTHER on Hollywood Blvd. (my memory has it at the Vogue -- BK, would that be correct?) and buying the paperback of the novel at Pickwick Books.  I liked the film but wasn't totally thrilled by it, no doubt because at that time I was looking for some outright horror and not getting it.  A couple of years ago I watched it on TCM and loved it.  I drool in anticipation of the Twilight Time Blu-ray.  And it sounds like I'd love rereading the novel.  Also need to reconnect with FEDORA, HARVEST HOME, etc.

I really think we should be further along than just Wednesday by now.  Yesterday should count for at least a Tuesday and Wednesday.

thank you to all for all the wonderful vibes.

I am going to go back to work today not because I am feeling 100%, but if I spend more than 3 days there is too much paperwork needed.

I enjoyed all of Tom Tryon's books and I used to like to see him on the talk shows promoting them.

I think THE OTHER is my favorite....but one that doesn't get much love and certainly was never filmed, although I think it could be WONDERFUL is LADY......

Good morning, all! When I get to therapy this morning, I will ask about this recent pain in my lower back.  I am not amused.

I loved both THE OTHER and HARVEST HOME as novels.  I've never seen the HARVEST HOME film (TV, wasn't it?) but I did like the film of THE OTHER, about which I remember absolutely nothing.

There was a company in Cincinnati, Kahn's, and my mother bought their lunch meat instead of Oscar Meyer. Head cheese terrified me - only my Uncle Harold ate it - and by the time I went to college, I had vowed never to eat bologna again.

More coffee!

A product like head cheese wouldn't have come close to making an appearance in our house, and it certainly never has in my adult lifetime.  I look at the package, and don't even wanna know anything further...

I understand Cheez Whiz is also good squirted onto oranges. At least that truck driver in Illinois looked like she was really enjoying it.

We were a white bread and bologna eating family all the way.  Probably Oscar Mayer, but could have been local store brands, too.  The one thing they'd get occasionally that grossed me out a little were the things like olive loaf, or the pickle and pimento loaf -- for some reason, while I liked those little thingies just fine on their own, they didn't make any sense to me stuff into "meats".  Now, however, I can very much enjoy a good olive loaf sandwich -- but done MY WAY, on good bread with other good condiments, etc.

I think bologna (or, let's face it, baloney) is something that probably shouldn't be crossing any adult person's gums.  To me, it would be like eating a cold uncooked hot dog.  Or maybe worse.  But I'm fine with other Oscar Mayer-type cold cuts (salami, etc.) -- again, as long as they're part of an otherwise well put together sandwich.

Yes. He only stayed out for a few minutes. I guess he remembered that adventure he had and came back in.
