I'm up - got eight hours of sleep, then had to do stuff, had some soup and a quesadilla, picked up a package from Druxy and now I'm in for the day - just did the blurb for the next Kritzerland show, and now must prep the release announcement for Sandy's CD, which we'll make live tonight at midnight.

Hoo and Ray!!

Oh, yes, I did eat breakfast with Aman. I had a mushroom omlette with hash browns, toast and coffee.

Aman and his cousin, Davinder, only had coffee as they had already eaten shortly after leaving Seattle.

And Davinder paid for me breakfast, which I didn't realize until I tried to pay my bill. I thought that was awfully nice of him.

I was not feeling good that morning, and look horrid in that picture. But it would be hard to look good next to Aman! He is quite the handsome Punjabi, and very nice, too.

Good morning, all!

Last night  got one of those lovely shocks when I signed onto my Facebook page to find myself tagged in a clip of Pamela Myers and I singing "Color and Light" from "Sunday in the Park with George", at an invited dress rehearsal for the 1986 L.A. Premiere. It had been posted by our wonderful director, Fran Soeder. It seems Fran had a little hand held camera in that monstrous cavern of a theater, and has had these things stashed away ever since. Never knew about that, only about an audio recording from someone's lap during the show. It looks like he is now transferring and making clips for postings of our show and others he directed out here.

It was amazing to see, and even though the quality isn't the best, it's something I'd love to have a copy of. I tried downloading it, but it wasn't possible. I'll have to ask him for a copy.  Talk about a blast from way in the past. But that show remains a highlight in my crazy career.

Happy Hump Day to everyone!

So, where can we see this? Is it on Youtube?

Sorry I missed this earlier. If you are on Facebook, it is on my page now. I am working on trying to download it, but I did get an embed code, so I'll try that out too.

DR Vixmom "The Puppet Maker's Bones" looks interesting, however, as with most the books named yesterday my eBook library doesn't offer it.

AH....Facebook.....yes that is a different downloading animal.

Maybe try this

http://www.downfacebook.com/

Bless you for that link. So far, that did half of the work. I did manage to download the normal version, but it needs the HD one that shows on FB, since the original is very blurry. I'm trying to manage the HD download, so far without luck. I did however get an embed code from it. I'll test that out.

Many thanks!

Well then, I hope the cousins were women!

One cousin married a Yankee after WWII and the other one was my mother who arrived in the States before the war began.  She came with her orthodox Jewish step-father and her two sisters.

Then I worked on some lyrics for an Outside the Box episode, then had a telephonic call with Sandy to run her patter.

thank you to all for all the wonderful vibes.

I am going to go back to work today not because I am feeling 100%, but if I spend more than 3 days there is too much paperwork needed.

I hope you are feeling ok this evening.

I did find our DR Ryacko singing a beautiful song from Parade on Youtube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWYFcu9kaIM

Sadly, I have no earplugs at my desk today. Will have to listen to it later.

That was from a concert that Jason Robert Brown did with his wife, Georgia Stitt (also a composer, if you don't know her). It was their first joint concert, and aside from singing with the 30 person choir, my buddy Will Collyer (who was in this week's Kritzerland show) and I got to solo on The Old Red Hills of Home from PARADE.

Will and I had both both understudies on the production of PARADE done at the Taper in 2009, with Jason and Alfred Uhry, and with Rob Ashford directing. It was the Donmar Warehouse production, with a cast of 15, instead of 36.

I switched gyms a week back, but it was a mistake. The new gym not to my liking...too small, not enough machinery or selection of weights, and there is the annoyance of having to work around the zumba classes that are held right in the middle of the weight room! And the zumba teacher is the most annoying character I have ever come across...although he has a multitude of middle aged female fans who hang around and chat with him for an hour after...right in the middle of the weight room.

So, back to the YMCA...thankfully, they are letting me re-sign up, without charging me the sign up fee.

If there is a problem tell them to change your status to "on hiatus".

DR Ryacko,

I just listened to your solo of The Old Red Hills of Home on You tube.

You sounded fantastic!!!

How long ago was this?

Thank you, DR Kate!

That was from 2010, the year after I did PARADE with Jason Robert Brown and Co., as mentioned in my last post just above. In that video, Jason is at the piano and his wife Georgia is conducting the string sextet. It was an evening full of wonderful guest singers and great music.
