I've lined up some Blu-rays for "Halloween" viewing.  Among them: "The Haunting", "I Married A Witch", "Don't Look Now" and, expected in next week's mail, "The Uninvited."

That's a great photograph, DR Ron.

Is that another "H" up there in the hills?

Actually, the more I study that picture, the more interesting it gets.

I spent a lovely hour with Susanna, who is off to the NYPL, and hopefully  THE GLASS MENAGERIE. It was great to see her and she look wonderful.  We dished, we laughed, and caught up.

I am going to do a bit of Moross work, and hopefully accomplish something.  I wish I had a secretary to clean off my work table for me!

I just finished my first straight-through listen of DEAREST ENEMY.  I didn't know it at all, so mostly followed along with libretto and synopsis and relished the sound of those singers and players coming out of The Big Speakers.  Will dig into the various liner notes in a little while.  As for now...

"Oh. My. God."  (As they say.)  It's nothing short of a revelation.  Thanks and congrats galore to DR Elmore for the love and effort put into these works.

What's crazy is that this is an unparalleled week, with both DEAREST ENEMY and SIMPLY brightening our mailboxes and doorsteps -- because I know I'll be just as blown away by SIMPLY (which was just delivered!) and spouting the same sentiments.  We live and post in a very special place with the likes of BK and DR Elmore richening our lives up a little.  But both in one week?  Hey, every week should be like this.  Okay, I'll settle for every month.

DR John G:  Re: your comments last night about "Evil Under the Sun".  I'm not sure who has what regard, but I do believe the film far superior to the story -- and to the literal filming of it with David Suchet as Poirot (Jap, Hastings and Lemon are also in that episode).

The cast, the score, the dialogue and the location all make for a far more engaging adaptation than the actual book

IMO, natcherly.

Yeah. Glad to find someone who agrees with me on that one.

I'm up, I'm up.  I was up several times earlier but I just fell back asleep each time, which I needed.  I have to leave in thirty minutes for lunch.  But one thing that happened this morning - I think one of those times I was awake I came up with a new name for the next novel that I kind of like - I'll run it by Muse Margaret.

This is an interesting video of a church near me in Stamford, CT. It is a Presbyterian Church known as the "Fish Church" because it is in the shape/form of a fish. It was built in the 1950s and its design is unique and award-winning. On a sunny day, the inside is truly a sight to behold. This video was captured using a small remote-control helicopter. I have performed in this church many times.

I love the line, I'm paraphrasing here, spoken by one ex-chorine to another: "No one can throw up their legs higher or wider than you, my dear!"
