Hello and Goodbye, DR Jeanne!

Glad that you are on your way to better sight, and that unencumbered reading will once again (not soon enough) be within your grasp!

I am watching last night's PBS broadcast of "Great Performances at 40: A Celebration." A nice mix of clips and fresh performances in a variety of media and styles. Most of the live performances have been cut down (missing verses, etc.) for time, I assume.

My last load of wash is about to go in the clothes dryer and then I can dry my own hair.

By sticking it in the clothes dryer??       :-\

 ;D

LOL  It does seem that when when my head has been in and out of the dryer so often.

When I was a young we had a wall heater in the bathroom I would sit in front of while I brushed my hair dry.  The coils down the middle would get red hot.  These days I use a hair dryer.  Our first house in Reseda, California had one of these.  When Bryan was about 1 year old he stuck his finger in it, while it was off, and before I could prevent him from tugging his hand out he cut himself.  When I called the neighbor to come hold him still while I stopped the bleeding she, an experienced mother of three, said she would take us to the ER for stitches.

Oh my goodness!  If that were made today, that would be a lawsuit just waiting to happen!

;D

Until portable hair dryers I missed having one.

Final score:  Michigan 63, Indiana 47

My brother will be happy.  He even went to a bar to watch the game since he couldn't get it on his cable.  My brother doesn't drink.

DR Jeanne I'm amazed you have that bathroom heater.  It must be ancient.

The house was bought by a very exclusive (meaning expensive) elementary school that only has grades K-4, so I don't know if it's because the kids are just very young or if they've been protected a bit too much, but these kids have been scared a little more than kids from our "regular" audiences.  Three, count 'em, THREE kids have had to be taken out before the first act ended because it was all too scary for them.  We'll see if more don't come back after intermission.

Act two has started and we figure that probably another dozen people (kids and parents) have left.  Oh, well...they paid their money and there are no refunds.

Interesting and a shame too.

DR Jennifer - I actually saw the alternate and didn't see Danielle :(

I watched the series Over The Rainbow. My favorite actually wasn't Danielle. I wonder if any of the other contestants got to be her alternate.

Thanks to DR George, this afternoon I have been having great fun going thru the DVD of my productioon of SCROOGE, THE MUSICAL doing screen prints of the show.  I am going to use them to make DVD labels and jewel case covers for these disks that were recorded for educational purposes only.

Greetings from Kilmarnock, Virginia!  I just saw The Broadway Tenors, starring Matt Cavenaugh, John Cudia and Brent B.   What a great show!  I've seen it before with other guys, such as Kevin Spirtas, Brian Lane Green, George Dvorsky, Sean McDermott and Lewis Cleale.  It's nice to see a different combination of singers.

Watching a fun one from way back in 1938. It's called Fast Company with Melvyn Douglas, who plays a kind of Nick Charles, except he's a rare book collector who solves mysteries with his wife, played by Florence Rice. They're names are Joel and Garda Sloane.

Murder and rare books. What a great combo.

The disc has the other two Sloane movies, but Douglas and Rice only made the first. Robert Montgomery and Rosalind Russell are in Fast and Loose, while Franchot Tone and Ann Southern are in Fast and Furious.

I downloaded the new DEAREST ENEMY from Amazon, but DR elmore3003 was kind enough to send me a copy of the physical CD. The booklet is superb -- I'm just diving in now. Would that all forgotten shows could get this treatment!

Amen.

Good morning, all.

Scratchy throat here.  This started yesterday, and simply will not do.  Must take care.

Same with me. Sore throat, headache and cough. Barely slept at all last night. Ironically I had my first ever flu jab last week!

Vibes for Doug R, too.
