Can some kind DR explain from whence we order the Oliver! Blu-Ray?

Never mind...   I figured it out.

HainesHisWay

Okay I tried this 5 times and it finally worked.

I've been lazy and don't do it when I should, probably because I often need a couple of tries to get it to work properly.

DR Druxy,

Did you figure out THE GAME before it ended?

I didn't figure out the ending of THE GAME. In fact, I never do figure out twist endings. It always amuses me how people say they figured the twist ending of a film five minutes after it started. Like, yes - I always believe them!

I know a few people who said that they knew the "twist" in "The Sixth Sense."  Good for them.  I didn't and was completely gobsmacked when it was revealed!  I wouldn't have wanted to know that the first time I saw it.  I have also seen the director's next two films, but I didn't see any more than that...I don't know why.

I agree with you DR George.  I had been told there was a huge twist, but I tried to just put it aside and I was surprised.  I hate it when people tell me either that there is a twist or what it is.  I love to be surprised. I think that's part of the reason I like to ether try to see a movie shortly after it's released or long after the buzz has settled and I don't remember what was said about it

I agree and when I saw Sixth Sense I was not aware there was a surprise/twist and didn't anticipate it.

Orchestrator Larry Moore, who is mighty good at unearthing, reassembling and providing the missing pieces of vintage musical comedies, has done just that....    The musical restoration by Moore appears to be excellently done, and New World Records, which years ago gave us a splendid recording of Rodgers and Hart's Babes in Arms, has done a fine job.

Congrats! Nice to see you getting some much deserved recognition

I want to know if DR RLP has been drinking himself blind this weekend with his new Mr. Coffee Latte Machine?

We took a trip into town just to go to the library.  FINALLY Keith has his own library card!!!
He needed a book to listen.  I looked at my wish list when we returned home and one of his books just became available this afternoon.  He has checked it out and downloaded it.  He put a hold on another book that I didn't have room for.

He disliked the Herbert songs and ignored EILEEN, so his review for DEAREST ENEMY is, I suppose, a step up!

He ignored it because he didn't get a free copy, I'm sure.

As for the review, well, let's just say that I hear Rodgers all over his. Hart, too.

It's a beautiful day here.  I managed to realign the window well covers I made a couple years ago.  I need to do more work on them, but not up to it.  It's in the 60s.  I have lots of windows open and the cats have been enjoying the day sitting on the window sills.  I'll keep them open as long as I can.  I love to air the house out

I was laughing about when he owned his last card.  I think it may have been in Los Angeles, unless Detroit gave him a card because he was on their board but I don't think so.

He always used my card or purchased what he wanted or got freebies through work.

I'm very pleased Keith enjoyed "Open and Shut" which I highly recommended for him.  I went to the library looking for a few more books to put on his wish list only they didn't have any of them.

I have one, but I never use it.  I used to check out audio books when I was on the road more, but then I went through a phase where I rarely was in the car myself when traveling for work, so I just decided to forget it.  I know I can use the ebooks on my nook but I haven't done it

Any Ohio resident can have a card from any Ohio public library. I think I have 6, plus one for Miami University.

That's great.  I have a Library of Congress card, not that I ever expect to return.  I should take it when we visit Craig.

From what I saw of the OSU football team last night, I'm afraid that last formation is a prophecy of the Nov. 30 game...

When I lived in Ohio, I had ones from Cincinnati, Middletown, Hamilton, and Miami University.  Now, only the NYPL and Library of Congress.

I would guess since he reviewed the songs and DEAREST ENEMY that he's on NewWorld's mailing list and that he got EILEEN. Since he hates/fears operetta (although I'm sure he loves A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC and CAROUSEL), I am guessing he opted not to review it. I was certain he'd hate DEAREST ENEMY.

Watching Burns and Allen on Antenna TV.  Gracie was one of a kind.

Have you seen these clips of the color episode of B&A on YouTube?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lK-IjcstA9Q
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wYUfjYWEug
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqRcnp7vwKA

Another user has uploaded most of the filmed episodes. I hope it gets to DVD one day.

Thank you, as with everything they did this was delightful.  It is a shame Gracie was lost to the world far too soon.
