It did look like Bret Michaels.

You have to know who he is to know this ;)

He was on Celebrity Apprentice. :)

One year when the Vixter was about 10 or 11 I received a call from the school nurse that she was ill - I  left work and picked her up from school and took her to the doctor - she prescribed something and as we drove to the pharmacy to pick it up I told the miserable child (in an effort to make her feel better)

"You can still go trick or treating "

she replied  "Do I have to?"

only then did I realize just how ill she really felt , poor kid

Well, that was a first - Matt Damon and a whole slew of kiddies just knocked on my door.  Go know.

That's pretty cool.

Before Halloween I picked up my niece from school. When we got home she could not find her homework. We went back to the school (only a 3-5 minute drive). She could not find it in her locker. She could not find it in her desk.  Usually she puts it in her binder. But since it was Halloween she hadn't had time.

It must have fallen out of her bag?

Anyhow she could have gone back tomorrow (it is a ped day but the teachers are there). But she said the teacher didn't keep extras (I find this hard to believe).

Luckily a girl in her class had forgotten something. So i asked her if she could ask her dad if they had a photocopier. They did. So i asked the dad if i could follow them home so he could photocopy the pages. Thankfully he agreed. Thank you nice father!

Oy!

The new trailer for "Sally Struthers IS Dolly!"
http://www.broadwayworld.com/article/First-Trailer-For-Sally-Struthers-In-New-HELLO-DOLLY-National-Tour-20131031

I am speechless!  She is the first Dolly I ever saw who needed help down the stairs at the Harmonia Gardens

Maybe it was filmed during a dress rehearsal and she just hadn't learned to navigate the stairs, yet.

When I was in Fort Wayne, IN, a few months back, this was being advertised as a future attraction at the theater across the street from my hotel.

when I was in my late teens and early twenties I belonged to a  young adult group that met every Sunday evening in a church basement - we used to have a Halloween party every year.  I bet my friend Frank that he would not recognize me.

At the time I  pretty much  was the makeup department at my  college theatre dept

I used nose putty to build up  my nose,  gave myself a swarthier complexion with pancake makeup, gave myself a  beard and moustache and bushy eye brown with black crepe hair and put on a short black wig,  then I put on my brother's  olive green work pants, my dad's old army jacket and my brother's work boots

the room we met in had two entrances , I came in the back one and saw  Frank sitting on the couch facing the front entrance.  He was busy telling everyone  about  our bet and explained it didn't matter how I dressed because  he knew he would recognize me because I was the one assigned to bring the cake!

So I sat down next to him on the couch and waited  silently.... about 5 minutes late r my brother came in the front entrance (carrying  the cake I was assigned to bring)  and Frank  told everyone - Ok she'll be next!... then he waited and waited and finally asked my Brother , "Hey where is your sister?"

"Sitting next to you !"

All in attendance agreed I  won the bet

He may have been in some sort of white costume thing - hard to tell through the sea of kiddies he had with him - about ten.

I checked airfares and have decided that I'm not going to try to go to either Phoenix or NYC this fall.  Maybe I'll take another look in January.  I can't go for any length of time right now and it's just too expensive to do a quick weekend.   I'll miss the chance to meet DRs Laura, Sandra and Kerry, but I'll get back there one of these days.

I didn't turn on my porch light this year.   Last year I had 0 trick or treaters, so I decided not to even wait for them.  It's kind of like being stood up

There's a street two blocks from here and for about 20 blocks its jammed with people going door to door.  You can hardly drive down the street.  I went over there and was amazed.  With everything on Jackson they just don't venture over this way

I remember lots of Halloweens.  My mom wasn't very handy.  We went to the store and got the plastic mask with the elastic band to hold it on and the premade costumes.  I don't remember being that thrilled with the actual going door to door part of it.  I was usually with people who wanted to keep going and keep going and keep going and I wanted to go home and eat my candy

Tomorrow night I'm going to see Ghost Brothers of Darkland County  I'm very curious to see what Stephen King, John Mellencamp and  T Boone Burnett can dream up.

I think I'm going to quit thinking out loud about traveling until I'm actually in the air and on my way somewhere lol.   I used to travel so much and now I seem to think of 1001 reasons not to go.

Sorry about your niece, Jennifer. No one should be sick on Halloween.

Maybe if she hasn't thrown up all day then she will be able to go out on her street. But the weather is supposed to be rainy. So not too exciting for anyone.

I hope she is up to putting on her costume and going to a couple of houses.  Will you be going over there tonight?

Yes.  She had a gorgeous Cinderella costume that she was going to wear. But a few weeks ago she decided that she didn't want to wear it (i like recycling older costumes that my other niece wore). She had a fairy costume that she was going to wear to daycare. But it wouldn't fit over her winter jacket. So she was going to be a butterfly outside. I think she just has butterfly wings. So not a lot of effort went into that costume since we thought that she was going to be Cinderella.

You should have talked her into going as both the butterfly and Cinderella.  She'd have TWO costumes and be TWO characters.  She'd have liked that, I think.

I would have gone for a butterfly and a moth!

I am going to see my family on Sunday.  A short 2 hour trip by car I can do.  Still don't know if it will be my car or the rental, but either way, I'm going
