  • What is it, fish?

And finally, I will confess that when the children were singing "The Sound of Music" and the Captain finally starts to sing - I cried.  And I got rather misty on the final "Climb Every Mountain."  And as a former Rolf, I am grateful that he didn't rat them out like in the movie.

Those are two of the key moments and there are others as well, which I thought all landed as they should.

I received a wonderful gift this afternoon that truly touched me and brightened a lousy day/week/five months but who's counting?  It was a wonderful gesture that lifted me when I needed something kind or worthwhile to occur.

I sat around Toyland all day, and the package never arrived. I sent the shipment to my home address by mistake. Perhaps it's time to hang it up?

I'm going to one, a local production of BOEING BOEING.  But I don't need vibes for that.  I'll be fine!   :)

I'm doing oysters tonight.

I don't know, Chas, I have heard BOEING BOEING described as that damn play.

There was a threat earlier today of canceling ZZ Top at the company Christmas party tomorrow night, but the party seems to be happening.

How big of a company do you work for?

26,000 employees worldwide, about 15,000-16,000 of them here in San Antonio. They're expecting anywhere from 20,000 to 24,000 to show up since you can take someone with you.

I love oysters.... pan fried, even deep fried, but I have never developed a taste for raw oysters.  And most of the people around here at the oyster bars seem to swallow them whole, so what is the point?

  • Have a REALLY nice day!

My writing partner and I got an invite to do a piece for Texas Monthly. Haven't been in that mag before. It's due before the BBQ book but it's short. Hopefully we can do it.

Would the article be about antacids?

I didn't know that was added to the movie.

Yep,  in the stage version, Rolf comes thru in a pinch and says there is no one in the garden.  It is was the least he could do for Liesel.

Good for Rolf ;)  Thanks for the details.

Here's a testament for last night's broadcast:  Richard had told me earlier in the week that he'd watch until 10pm and then go to my Momcave to watch ELEMENTARY.  He found the production compelling enough to stay 'till the end.  Now he has to find a way to see ELEMENTARY.

Doesn't the CBS website offer full episodes?

I just cleaned my eyeglasses. Every time I do, which is far too infrequently, I am astonished anew at how bright and clear the world looks.
You think I'd learn...

I finally found the keyboard for the computer.
Frustration rate shrinks to zero.
But so does my excuse for typos now, too.

  • A person should celebrate what passes by.

Our snowstorm has been delayed a few hours and the number of inches forcast is less :)

It actually snowed here overnight!  Fortunately, it was a very light dusting that was completely melted off my car by the time I left for work. ;)

One of the main advantages of going to work at noon.

Exactly! :D

I just had a nice talk with my financial advisor.  He told me that the investment portion of my retirement from the state, had an 8% return for the year.  If only all the years could be that way.

I am so damn cold today.  For the sake of staying on the computer, I had to turn off the fireplace and turn on the space heater near me.  The livingroom is just too damn big for the heat to reach me.  Of course, it is only 28 degrees outside at the moment.
