At the end of the year I'm always in the mood to toss, cull, declutter. Take your pick of terminology. I did some of that today and made a little dent in it. Lots more to do. A book lover, I've always found it difficult to cull books. It's getting easier, though. Real estate is just too expensive. Many of these books I know I'll never reread, so out with them! (I say that, but it reality the bag of books to donate isn't even full. It's still progress, though.)

For many years I didn't have a TV. (I don't have one now, either.) I was traveling a lot on business, working long hours, etc. When a friend took pity on me and bought me one I thought, "I'll rent some of the movies I've missed over the years. I'm not interested in TV." But I was wrong. There's PBS, which had a very rich offering in Arlington/Alexandria at that time. (Sadly diminished due to budget cuts.) And there's British TV, which I've always felt was brilliant. And now I've developed a new appreciation for American TV. I really enjoy BONES, WHITE COLLAR, PERSON OF INTEREST, JUSTIFIED, and a number of other shows. I've been surprised at the high quality of these shows. I have no idea how many viewers they have relative to the reality shows. Perhaps they are the exceptions, but I've been pleasantly surprised.

Of the three different kinds in the sampler, I did like the Bordeaux Pecan the best. I liked the vanilla walnut a little more than the chocolate walnut, but they were all good.
