It makes me so happy for DR Ben and DH Ant and DR elmore3003 that you had a lovely get together today.

I have been lamenting my distance these past months; it would have been fun to visit DR elmore3003 and cheer him up. Or at least get a kick in the pants. Or something.     :)

Good morning, gentle DRs!

And what about the rest of us, huh?

You are in your very own category, DR Jeanne.  I just have to figure out what that is.       ;)

I'd say elmore needs to upgrade to a Nudie Blu-ray.

Kids have come and gone.  I've written about four pages and I guess I'll mush on and try to do two more before I leave.  I don't really have to leave until about 6:45

DRs Elmore and Ben:

I'm 99% certain of this, but I just want to clarify -- it's region-free on both Blu-ray and DVD -- right?

I've got a couple of imports I'm happy to donate to the cause.

Yes, the machine (Larry's) is fully region-free for any and all discs and Larry has a blu-ray Nudie. I missed typing that information when I noted it on Page 3. It just says DVD (Nudie) but I meant to say blu-ray (Nudie). That's why we tried the Nudie disc, because it's blu-ray.

I bought the Nudie Blu-Ray as soon as it was released. It's one of my favorite movies.

And it does (or doesn't) play PAL-format discs?

DR singdaw, no kicks; the leg won't walk or do much of anything.

DR Anthony, the PAL DVDs should play on the non-regional player.  Try them out.

Watching skating, too.

They just said Scott Hamilton's Olympic gold was 30 years ago - hard to believe!

It should play PAL-format; my old one did.

Chas, I'm sure it plays PAL format discs. That's the problem with our current DVD player, it doesn't play PAL. Most Region 2 (or non-region 1) discs are also not in NTSC format anyway, although a disc can be region free and still be in PAL (my cousin in Sheffield makes region-free discs on his computer but they are in PAL format) so most, if not all, region free players play both NTSC and PAL formats.

I've written about six pages so far, and I think I may try for another before I leave.  If not, I'll definitely do a couple more when I'm back from the show and a little post show food.

DR vixmom, have fun today at the theatre!

DR KevinH, I like the idea of an early Feb mini-HHW assemblage during LITTLE ME.

I guess I can see Brent in the show, but what role will Barbra be playing?

Something familiar,
Something peculiar,
Something for everyone:
A comedy tonight!
Something appealing,
Something appalling,
Something for everyone:
A comedy tonight!
Nothing with kings, nothing with crowns;
Bring on the lovers, liars and clowns!
Old situations,
New complications,
Nothing portentous or polite;
Tragedy tomorrow,
Comedy tonight!
Something convulsive,
Something repulsive,
Something for everyone:
A comedy tonight!
Something aesthetic,
Something frenetic,
Something for everyone:
A comedy tonight!
Nothing with gods, nothing with fate;
Weighty affairs will just have to wait!
Nothing that's formal,
Nothing that's normal,
No recitations to recite;
Open up the curtain:
Comedy Tonight!
Something erratic,
Something dramatic,
Something for everyone:
A comedy tonight!
Frenzy and frolic,
Strictly symbolic,
Something for everyone:
A comedy tonight!
Something familiar,
Something peculiar,
Something for everybody:
Comedy tonight!
Something that's gaudy,
Something that's bawdy--
Something for everybody!
Comedy tonight!
Nothing that's grim.
Nothing that's Greek.
She plays Medea later this week.
Stunning surprises!
Cunning disguises!
Hundreds of actors out of sight!
Pantaloons and tunics!
Courtesans and eunuchs!
Funerals and chases!
Baritones and basses!
Panderers!
Philanderers!
Cupidity!
Timidity!
Mistakes!
Fakes!
Rhymes!
Crimes!
Tumblers!
Grumblers!
Bumblers!
Fumblers!
A comedy toniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiight!!!

Do you realize how many posts you could have made out of that song??

Had a small breakfast (in the next booth, Tom Wopat), did some banking and then had three people rehearsing - our female trio that's doing Fugue for Tinhorns, the beautiful Jean Louisa Kelly - we got along so well I think she'll do episode one of season three's Outside the Box - and then Bruce Vilanch and Barry Pearl who will stop the show cold.

Gee,  you should have asked Tom to do an OUTSIDE THE BOX episode.

MBarnum is very jealous of the Tom Wopat sighting, I'm sure.

Very long day with more little details as we near getting the final manuscript together. I still need to write one short introduction to a chapter and a new bbq food truck that was too good to leave out.

I'm drooling just thinking about those ribs.
