I used to ski all the time when I was a kid.  I was outside all winter long no matter how cold it was. I kind of miss those days

I am looking forward to the Golden Globes because I haven't seen that many of the nominated films.  I am hoping they show clips.

Well, I've decided not to give up flute choir so I'm leaving in the next 20 minutes or so for the drive to Le Mars....the ice cream capitol of the world.  I love to add that.  And, of course, I'll make a stop at the ice cream capitol itself and get a big cone .   I LOVE ICE CREAM

Two good choices.

Yup....I was watching all morning to see who would be chosen.

Sunday afternoon greetings!  I went to Lima for church for the first time since Christmas Eve today.  Richard and I picked up chicken and trimmings for lunch and finished eating just in time for me to move to my Momcave to watch skating.

I was the same, DR Cillaliz, but skating was my sport.  Until I was 9, we lived in what's known now as a townhouse in a long row.  There were community clothes lines out back on a concrete pad.  My dad and some of the other dads made us a skating rink on the concrete.  Mom still talks about how I'd put on my skates on Saturday mornings, skate all morning, eat lunch standing up in my skates, and go back out until dark.

From age 10 through high school, I had to walk several blocks east or west to outdoor rinks in city parks.  I'd never ice skated indoors until I took one semester of figure skating my freshman year of college to fulfill the phys ed requirement.  That was the end of my skating career, but I still love to watch on TV and in person.

I have a serious bout of full blown food poisoning - for only the third time in fifty years I am throwing up, which I HATE.  Haven't slept a minute and if this isn't done by morning, I won't be attending band rehearsal.  I can only pray it's gone by Monday.

I met one of my California friends and her relatives for dinner in Old Town Alexandria last night.  We always go to "The Wharf," which serves "she-crab soup," which is her favorite.   They always make a nice pasta and veggie dish for me since I don't eat meat or fish.

I remember The Wharf. It's on King St about two blocks from the river. Or, at least it used to be.

Weatherized?? I know about flannel sheets, electric blankets, electric mattress covers, but have never heard of one being weatherized. Is it not adjustable?

I spent about an hour last night playing with the remote control and settings on the DVD player. The TV picture on every disc I examined was full-frame, and everyone was stretched out of proportion until I figured out how to letterbox the picture. Now, I am happy as a clam.

Glad to hear it!

I thought we were supposed to use our stale bread to make bedroom slippers.

Perhaps someone has an awful lot of it and already has lots of stale-bread bedroom slippers.

Mr BK is very adept at working on multiple projects and switching back and forth between them seamlessly. Not so easy for many of us.

I am happy to report that the various PAL format discs acquired over the years from friends in England and Australia work perfectly in our new region-free DVD player!

Great news, Ben!  Congrats!
