TOD:   Clams.  Oysters (except an occasional fried oyster on a seafood platter).  Chitlin's.  Snails.  Kippers.  Pickled Herring.  Don't know nothin' 'bout no Haggis, but I do know I don't want anything "internal" of an "organ" nature.

I adore squash.  Fried me up a mess of summer squash last night and had it with fresh tomato slices and bbq chicken.

We have two birthdays this week and both will be celebrated Thursday at lunch.   One will be a lunch out somewhere for a co-worker in my division and the other will be a potluck for a co-worker in another division.

I will go out to lunch, but will bring in a dish for the potluck and ask that a plate be made for me to take home that evening.

I find myself wondering if JRand spent on time on Lifetime network this past weekend with the "50 Shades of Grace" marathon.

Afternoon, all!

bk: Glad to hear the benefit went well
Vixmom: were you quoting the play or the musical (Twelfth Night)? Need to know if I have to start reciting my sonnets or singing my Rupert Holmes in retaliation.

TOD: Long as it's kosher, I'll try it once, but I don't eat tomatoes or broccoli.

NO I did not DR RLP!  And DR ELMORE that link was terrifying - just the fact that such a thing was worthy of reporting at all boggles my brain.

So it turns out that Oley and I are working our scene from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. which is great, I will be home by 6 p.m.

Hate liver and hominy.  Not much of a fan of turnips (the root part, not the greens).

Love spinach and cabbage....and broccoli!

You can just pass that cabbage and spinach over this way, DR Jrand63.

And those tomatoes and broccoli, DR Elan.

No good deed goes unpunished: I offered to go to the NYPL to see if there were a Broadway script for Alan Jay Lerner's THE DAY BEFORE SPRING.  Walking's an ordeal, and I ended up walking way too much all over the 2nd and 3rd floors. I got the libretto, Lerner's personal copy, with a lot of additions and deletions, but it doesn't follow the Broadway playbill's musical program. God knows what draft(s) this(these) pages may be. So, now I'm exhausted, my body aches, and my trip to help a friend was a dud.

I'm wet and glad to be home.

Tuesday afternoon greetings!  It's clear, sunny, and not too cold here in SW Ohio and I'm very glad because Fr. Richard officiated at a funeral today.  The deceased was the grandfather of the fiancé of our DN/goddaughter Lauren, so I accompanied him to the funeral home and the gravesite.  We went out to lunch, did a few errands, and came home to wash the cemetery mud off our shoes.

Might be time for a nap...

Tickets just went on sale this morning, so in case anyone has a spare 30 minutes for a one-act musical:

If you can't see Larry Kramer's THE NORMAL HEART, or even if you can - come see
I NEVER MISS A LARRY KRAMER MUSICAL

Come see:  A divine musical parody one-on-one!
Part of John Chatterton's Midwinter Madness Short Play Festival, featuring widely diverse examples of the one-act 30-to-60-minute play
form.

"I NEVER MISS A LARRY KRAMER MUSICAL, A Parody Chat with Bette Midler"
Has Been Invited To Be Part of John Chatterton’s MIDWINTER MADNESS SHORT PLAY FESTIVAL
Roy Arias Stage II – 300 West 43rd Street – 4th Floor
New York City, at 43rd Street near 8th Avenue

Three Performances – FEBRUARY 25 – MARCH 1 & 2
Tuesday February 25 – 5:45 pm - our first performance after a quick tech time, so it should be exciting - anything can happen!
Saturday March 1 – 10:15 pm and Sunday March 2 – 7 pm

A parody written by Fred Landau

Milla Ilieva (who has an album on Kritzerland) plays the Divine Miss M - more casting coming soon!

Directed by Michael Joseph Ormond (showing a totally different side after his great success with The Crucible last fall)

This 30-minute mini-musical takes place on the morning that Bette inexplicably and unaccountably did not get a Tony nomination.
The one-act piece is 30 minutes from the time we start.   A unique blend of parody with divine-Miss-M tribute.

TICKET INFO FROM ovationtix is on my blog http://music-and-comedy.blogspot.com/

Congrats, Fred!  Sounds like it'll be so much fun!!

I'm feeling peckish, yet I only recently finished a turkey Mediterranean sandwich and a bag of chips.

I guess I need something sweet to take the "savory" out of my mouth.
