No good deed goes unpunished: I offered to go to the NYPL to see if there were a Broadway script for Alan Jay Lerner's THE DAY BEFORE SPRING. Walking's an ordeal, and I ended up walking way too much all over the 2nd and 3rd floors. I got the libretto, Lerner's personal copy, with a lot of additions and deletions, but it doesn't follow the Broadway playbill's musical program. God knows what draft(s) this(these) pages may be. So, now I'm exhausted, my body aches, and my trip to help a friend was a dud.
I'm wet and glad to be home.
