Since I only had an omelet and an English muffin I'm making a few ounces of pasta, with a little butter and cheese - better than eating unbridled junk, which is the alternative.

My Pastor just posted this question: " My Dad and I  will drive the PCH from San Fran to San Diego in March. What do I need to see during our 10 days?

His Dad has been told "nothing else can be done" in his fight with cancer so this is a final son and dad trip -  West Coast Dear Readers, do you any suggestions I can pass along?

I just gave you a long response on FB.  We have driven this stretch too many times to count.  Whatever they do, tell them to stay off of the 5 if possible.

I wish them a wonderful trip filled with great memories for your Pastor.  If you like you may also give him my email address to write me directly.

You're entitled, DR vixmom! You should have some soup or broth with your pain pills, I think.

You are right DR elmore.  It wouldn't be good to get sick from the pain meds.

This day has been crummy, and it doesn't seem to want to get better.

Just heard the results from my audition (several weeks ago, now). I have been offered a regular weekly paid singing job with a church choir. The church is located downtown, less than 3 miles from where I live. So I am quite pleased about that. I can't be any more specific at present, as the other candidates have not yet been notified. They even had to perform a background check, which I apparently passed.     :)

I don't have suggestions, but I think the idea is wonderful. I hope they have a wonderful time.

We're settling in for a bitter cold evening with the chance of ice in the morning. There were few folks at the office this afternoon and of the three of us there, none of us could concentrate on what little work there was. So, I set up a meeting for them (meaning their time would be accounted for in the system) and sent them home. It's probably not accepted practice, but it was the right thing to do.

We are also in a drought which I believe includes MBarnum, George, & TCB's neck of the woods.

Watching Jeanette MacDonald in "New Moon." May Boland is in it. Sadly, so is Nelson Eddy.

It's a pretty common practice, DR Jane, for churches that have the budget. They can do more challenging choral repertoire, and it gives the volunteers more confidence. Also, it ensures that all the parts are covered, should folks be ill or away on travel.

Congrats to DR Singdaw!

Feel better vibes for DR Vixmom!  Watch the Olympics. Very interesting new team figure skating.  Apparently after all 4 disciplines have done their short programs then the 5 top countries get to do their long programs.

I am in shock, for the very first time I searched a book to recommend, Cockroaches by Jo Nesbo, to my eBook library and the book came up with the option for me to do this, plus if they purchase the book I will automatically be put on the queue.
