Thank you all for the healing vibes -  I am actually not feeling all that badly  but I am feeling hungry as I am still on a liquid diet and just doesn't seem to be satisfying the hunger

I look ridiculous though

DR Cilla good luck finding a doctor you like, and with the test results.  I've done that 48 hour test.  I agree you likely won't find anything wrong.  Don't be put off by a new doctor putting your info into the computer.  I actually find it more sufficient. Of course your doctor should have pre-ordered the tests if you are already a patient.  If you go to a labfor bloodwork ask to sign a form for the results to be sent to you.

The lab work is done at the office and they email you the results.  I've learned that there is another doctor at the same clinic that is old school, but they don't like you to switch doctors within the clinic, so I'm pretty much done with that clinic.  The funny thing is as I was telling Bob about this today - totally out of the blue a woman stopped in from a multi-care clinic (Chiro, phys therapy and Doctor in same clinic). She had a box of hot doughnuts.  She said she saw my commercial and wanted to stop because they do a lot of work with the Hispanic community.
I told her that I had just been talking about their clinic (I couldn't remember the name of it) It was very strange... Anyway, she said they mostly work with injuries, but she had been a drug rep in the past so she was familiar with the docs in the area.  I told her the sort of doc I was looking for. She gave me several names of docs who seem to practice the way I'm interested in being treated.  One of them is in the same network as my current clinic and is fairly near my house.  I think I'm going to give them a try

This morning I decided I wasn't going to wear the monitor anymore.  I had it on for 44 hours and just had enough.  The original request from the doctor was 48 hours and the tech who hooked it up said 30 days.   I just didn't want to deal with anymore  I did call and they said they'd have to tell the doctor and just give him what they had.  I can't believe the 4 hours made that much of a difference. We'll see what I hear from him

I had to talk to a client who works at a popular restaurant/bar so I stopped in there.  I ran into friends and a former neighbor.   I did have a couple drinks and not problems again.

well  actually I am "hosting" the Council  "retreat" (really a 6 hour meeting ) tomorrow at church and then tomorrow night I am driving into  Brooklyn to see Frank Langella as King Lear  at the BAM

Sunday morning is just church - then I think I will come home and collapse for a while -  or may be I could consider taking down the Christmas  decorations.....

Observations of the Olympics opening ceremony:

Like: quadrennial geography lesson; cyrillic alphabet; awesome projections; fireworks; all the athletes marching in; and the coke ad! In a way that ad captures the spirit of diversity.  The zodiac of athletes was amazing.. Very cool!

Fashion wise: Loved Canada's Jackets!! (I would love to get one), Liechtenstien's jackets, Slovakia's mittens, Moldova's scarves, Slovenia's scarves... France's jackets and UK's down coats were nice also.

Interesting fashion: Tonga's jackets, Bermuda's shorts, and Cayman Islands flipflops. Russia's coats reminded me of something I saw on a 70s show. Not bad, they were nice.

Ouch fashion:  US Sweaters... Latvia's very, very bright jacket and pants

Political fashion: Germany...

Thomas Bach's speech I thought was a polite poke at Putin.

Probably.  He's also slammed Obama and the leaders of other countries for not attending so it sounds like he's pretty much mad at everyone

I'm still kinda freaked out, Ginny, that you would have a review I wrote 29 years ago.

Yeah, I was kind of stunned, too, DR John G!  Would you prefer a photocopy by snail mail or a scan by email?  I can do either next time I'm at my computer.

Scan by email would be fine. Thanks.

DR John years ago when I went to NY and met DR elmore he gifted me a book from his personal collection on the Shakespeare Festival here in Ashland.  When I saw who wrote the broke I was trilled as they were a couple I hiked with every week and the husband organized our group and led the hikes.  After I returned I asked them to autograph the book.  They were full of smiles to see I had it.

Now I treasure this book for the connection to DR elmore, my wonderful time in NY, and to two dear people who are no longer with us.

A lovely gift. I have enjoyed my chats on FB with Elmore.. he is a good bloke

I'm listening to what is probably going to be our season opener in the fall at the theatre company I work at.  The recording was released today and I was freaking out because the board insisted on programming this piece next year - even though the Resident Music Director (me!) hadn't even heard the score.  So, now i'm hearing it, and it's not bad, really.  The show recently closed on Broadway in December - has to do with a fish.  You can figure that out.

What bugs me about next season is that the two big musicals are by the same composer.  I tried to tell the board that really was not a good idea, but both shows would be premieres in the area and they are new.  The other show, by the same composer as the aforementioned show, has to do with a family from a 60's sitcom.  Not one of my favorite scores, but it might be fun anyway.

Oh, my. Glad at least that the fish score is good. I have a DVD of the show that I haven't watched it yet.

Except for Rodgers and Hammerstein or Jerry Herman, I don't know of too many theaters that book the same songwriter twice in a season.

The book fair was grand fun - saw many dealers I know, hung out, noticed Ricky Jay was there, as he always is, and then finally came home around seven.  I proofed another chapter, then ran everything by Muse Margaret to where I was - she agreed with all the fixes and on I go - I'm on chapter nine now.
