Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

I have spent some delightful time with my iPad, watching the figure skating pairs' short programs from Sochi.  Started with 20 pairs and 16 qualified for the finals, which are tomorrow.  I'll be interested to see tonight how many of the 20 are shown on NBC.  I'm also glad to hear that Bob Costas is taking tonight off - his eyes look terrible!

While watching the skating I also did some cleaning around my desk.  If I spend the next several days this productively, my Momcave will be greatly improved.

Now, off to get ready for tonight's AAUW meeting.  Bye for now!

TOD:  I would like to see men's neck scarves from the seventies come back in style.  So much more comfortable than neckties, but still provide some colour and dash.  Time to ditch the bikini wax and bald nether regions.

Next to the dreaded thongs, Pogue has hit my other bugaboo, whether it be female or male.  Really, what is this predilection for folks to look like prepubescent children?  I find it noxious, I'm afraid.

I fell back asleep around seven-thirty, was awakened by the telephonic device at nine-twent, then fell back asleep until just a few minutes ago.  And although I'm a bit groggy, I'm not groggy enough to notice which damn page we're on.  We need us some frenzies around here.

Greetings, all!

As I begin my last week of shows in Maine tonight, all I can say is, I CAN'T WAIT TO GET OUTTA HERE AND GET HOME. (sorry for shouting   :D)

I'm also very much looking forward to the new Kritzerland show!!

Jeepers Creepers sounds wonderful, BK! Whenever I think of creepy songs, the first one that always comes to mind is Tom Lehrer's "I Hold Your Hand in Mine".

TOD: So, by thongs, did you mean footwear or bikinis - or both?
I'd be happy never to see parachute pants again.

I actually performed this song and pulled a friend out of the audience to sing it to...she didn't know the song but she's a performer, so I knew that she wouldn't be freaked out by calling her up.  I took her hand and (at first) sang the song to her, looking into her eyes, etc., but on the line, "My joy would be complete dear, if you were only here...", I grabbed her arm and sang the rest of the song to her hand.  It was so funny!  Everyone loved it and she really got a kick out of it! :))

I lay down for a second and napped for about an hour.  That was nice.

I've got to orchestrate this choral piece for Cincinnati, so I guess I will begin that today. Trouble is, i detest the instrumental lineup I'm stuck with, so there will be a lot of rests.

I love that. A perfect way to do that song.

After posting here about it, I posted a video on FB of Tom doing "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park", another fave.

I knew Tom Lehrer; the last time I saw him was in front of the Broadway Theatre. Has to be 10 years ago. We were both obsessed with Bernsten's CANDIDE; Tom had seen the original 1956 production and many variations of the show since then. He thought the best was the 1958 London production.  I can't remember if I ever told him that after reading Michael Stewart's libretto for London that I thought he might be right. He gave me a copy of the 1958 London program.

I just another email ordering me to quit my premises:

Eviction Notification,]Be advised that you must exit the occupied premises
until March 06, 2014 or be forcibly removed!
Any resistance will be met with strict legal sanctions
or forcible removal of your family from your home.
Find a copy of the vacate notice in the attachment to this notification.

This is from another law firm. So, what the hell is all this phishing about?  I'm opening no attachments, so what's the purpose of all this?

TOD - what I hope never comes back is the "dress for success" trend for professional women to look like professional men - dark suits, button-down shirts, bow ties.  That said, though, I'd like to see professional women cover up the cleavage and look a little more classy.
