JUDGING THE FINALS

Well, you've read the notes, you've judged the notes, and now it is time for you to post until the judgmental cows come home.

Good morning, all! I had a terrible night of sleep; at some point in the middle of the night,  a snow plough, or something that sounded as though scaffolding were being erected passed down 82nd Street creating quite a racket for too long a time. I could see signs of a rotating light and hear a lot of noise, but I refused to go to the window and look.  I wonder if it hit a car or got stuck.

Then, I was wide awake at 5:30, thinking about today's ROBERTA rehearsal, and at 6:45, i figured to hell with it tand got out of bed.  I'm pondering my itinerary and today's agenda before I head to Toyland.  I need to stop and pick up a bit of lunch and some bottled water for the office fridge, Do I do that on the Upper West Side or wait till I'm on Sixth and 27th? Decisions, decisions . . .

And that's my day.  I will check in from Toyland.

ROBERTA spelled backward is ATREBOR.

Hope it goes well, DR elmore3003!

Today is a big musical day for me: my first Sunday in my new church gig, and then singing Melchior this afternoon in a production of Amahl and the Night Visitors.

I am still recuperating from being sick this past few weeks; I hope my throat holds out!

Thank you, gentlemen. I'm having my usual pre-show jitters, but I think today will go fine.

We're rehearsing the seven Collegians, our leading man, and Tally, who plays Billy Boyden, the band's manager.  After Tally nd Patrick leave for their shows at 2:00, the rest of the rehearsal will be getting the seven Collegians solid on their harmonies and determining on "Lovely To Look At" if we're going to go with a quartet or all seven men.

We just finished breakfast (scrambled eggs, blueberry scones, strawberries, coffee (me) and pear tea (Anthony). Anthony is doing the dishes (I made the eggs) and we are listening to a Shirley Temple compilation.

"I Love To Walk in The Rain" is my favorite Shirley Temple recording!

I'll be on the subway to Penn Station and then NJ Transit to Maplewood so I'll miss most of the cold.

Bye for now.

I'm going to see How to Succeed... with friends Dennis and Carol.   It's at the Olney Theatre in Olney, Maryland.  I've never been there.  I guess it's about an hour away.   Looking forward to seeing George Dvorsky in the show.
