I'm off to the theatre. (After getting a bite to eat. ) Yes Michael S - it's Bernie Rothman. I first met him through DD who was a regular for a season on Lamb Chop's Play Along - which he produced. Years later we did a wonderful project together - one of my favorite scripts - which I hope will in the coming year be shot as a feature. Hope is the operative word. Au revoir.

I am off to rehearsal for TEN LITTLE INDIANS, but I did want to share my good news.

Today I was asked to play Scrooge in the musical of the same name!  See, good things do happen to bad people!

Jane, I would be happy to post the book cover but I honestly don't know if I can or not without Ty's permission.  He told me he copyrighted it.   I'm not copyright law savvy.  

That's one of the reasons I'm not to crazy to do any more covers.  If I accept money, then I will have a business on my hands.  I don't know what all that involves.  I’m sure I’ll need a license and have to pay taxes, etc, etc.  I’m not so sure I want to go into all of that.  That’s why I asked for copy of the book in lieu of money.

If/when the book is published, I’m sure I can scan it and show it to you then.

HOLLYWOOD -- With a DVD premiere movie sequel to "Bambi" nearing completion, Disney will release the original 1942 animated classic on DVD for the first time next year.

    

The studio made the announcement Thursday, more than six months before the pic will debut as a two-disc special edition on March 1 for a limited time.


In addition to an all-new digital restoration, the DVD will include a unique re-creation of a production meeting involving Walt Disney in which voice actors will dramatize a transcript of the meeting. Also included will be an original musicvideo, audio commentary, never-before-seen sequences, and an interactive game hosted by Patrick Stewart.


Disney says "Bambi 2" will not be released soon after "Bambi," and may not be released in 2005.


Disney has not announced who will perform in the musicvideo on "Bambi," but the studio has created a tradition of recruiting popular singers to croon new renditions of songs from the classic movies. For example, Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey have recorded a musicvideo version of "A Whole New World" specifically for the Oct. 5 special edition of "Aladdin."

Those DR who expressed interest in my collection for sale. Please hold on. I am almost done. Right now there 150 musical/musical related cds and more to add, 37 Soundtracks, 53 Sondheim cast albums and related cds, I am also revising the vocal listing. Hope to have it done by tomorrow

DAMN YANKEES hits dvd in October!
(just thought I'd share).   8)

Following a trip to Borders, my dvd player is now holding THE APPLE!  Can I say "Groovy" on HHW? ? ?

Also, just watched the James Ivory film of THE WILD PARTY.  Hmmmmm. . .is all I can say right now.

SWORDFISH had some fun twists and turns, but I'm SO not a John Travolta fan that he's a real turn-off. Hugh jackman, of course, more than made up for it, and I really consider it his film. I would think he had ALL of the audience's rooting interest.

No, Noel, you said that you HATE WalMart.  Hate is quite different from "doesn't like."  Hate is a word of extremes.  And as you profess to have not actually shopped at a WalMart, observed how they are giving discount prices to a general class of shoppers who otherwise could not afford the goods they sell, and yet HATE that store, I believe the word prejudiced is apt.

Elsewhere...

Der Brucer and I actually met Fletcher today.  He is a very nice dog, quite calm for a Dalmatian (but with a natural urge to explore).  It will take some work, to get in the habit of using hand signals and such to communicate with the dog, since he is deaf.  Der B ran into this problem once, offering Fletcher a cheese treat but wanting Fletcher to sit, and not making a hand signal within Fletcher's range of vision.

Hopefully, he will soon join our family.  I can only see this as being a good thing, as he has so much to teach us about communicating, and he is so deserving of a loving home.

But I DO hate WalMart.  I dislike how they've put other stores out of business.  I appreciate how, for some consumers, they're a good deal.  But I know, from what I've read, how they treat their employees.  And that's reason to hate them.  If you've reserached something, and conclude that something is hateful, it's not prejudice; it's an informed opinion.

DW Joy is rather fond of WalMart, however, and may go to one tomorrow
