~ ~ ~ WRIST VIBES ~ ~ ~ for DR Jane!

Thank you.  I am going to try to swim today and see if it helps, or at least not make it worse which is what the treadmill did yesterday.

In addition to the info on genealogy webinars, I also received  a brochure from the Department of Homeland Security called "ACTIVE SHOOTER  HOW TO RESPOND"   that's comforting...

My wrist gets wonky from time to time.  I just wear a brace for a few days.   Are they sure it isn't Carpel Tunnel?

Ok, no more playing....time to get back to work....well, I'm taking Edith to lunch.  Her husband is out of town for a week, so I figure she could use the company. They usually eat lunch together almost every day

Someone posted a video of a mommy dog saving her puppy from drowning in the pool.  At the beginning of the video the puppy, who doesn't look like THAT much of a puppy, is trying to get out of the pool.  Mommy dives in and helps the puppy get a foot hold, then gets out of the pool and grabs the puppy in its mouth and takes it to the grass, where they look so very proud.  What's wrong with this picture?  Well, once you understand that someone is standing there shooting a video while a puppy is purportedly drowning it doesn't take much to figure out it's staged and is probably a trick the dogs do every day.

Still, it is a cute trick.  I am constantly amazed at what people continue filming when they should be helping.  So at least it is staged and there wasn't any real danger as in many of the videos I cringe at.

The city of St. Paul has just announced that effective immediately, and until the snow has melted (sometime in May?), no parking will be allowed on the even-numbered sides of residential streets. This is a joke, because there is not enough street parking as it is. By eliminating half of the available parking - well, I just don't see how in tarnation that is going to work.     :-\    If you don't have a garage or off-street parking, you're screwed.

Bryan used to have to keep moving his car when he lived in Chicago.  They have to be able to plow.

I will have to find out.  When you say wonky, does it feel kind of crinkly inside?

Dear HHW Family

I can use your prayers. My father is very ill and I'm flying back to Montreal this morning. I am hoping I can make it back in time.

Thank you all

I'm so sorry to hear this.

They have to be able to plow.

I understand that, DR Jane. And I'm not unreasonable. There is an established framework that allows them to get the necessary plowing done - it lasts for 24-48 hours when a snow emergency is declared.

This new move eliminates half of all available parking - permanently - for a duration of 2 months.

For those who are so inclined, the USCIS is putting on some history and genealogy webinars. They are free so I thought I'd share the link

Thanks for the link, Cilla.  There are a couple of people I know (and one at work) that will probably be interested in these.  I'm going to forward this link to them. :)

For two months!  I figured it was just during the extra snow, but then considering where you live it might last two months.

I didn't mean to say the fact they have to plow doesn't make it less convenient for you.  Bryan couldn't always move his car in the snow.   What are you going to do?

I am very excited about the predicted rain. It hasn't rained since right before Christmas.

STORM WATCH 2014:  It stopped raining completely two hours ago.  I'm not sure there will be any more, but we'll see if the dire predictions of two more days of this actually happen.

From DR Jeanne:
Quote
Jane, I had tingling in my feet and legs many years ago due to peripheral neuropathy. Most inconvenient on stairs. Is there a chance you're diabetic? Mine wasn't a blood sugar issue and went away.

Well, as I sit here eating chocolate so early in the morning knowing I shouldn't......

My gluclose could be lower but I am not a diabetic.  I am trying to be good but I don't think it is connected to my glucose levels since the tingling began when I had reduced them.

Tomorrow I have new insurance.  I guess I should make an appointment to see the doctor.  The tingling isn't constant, or I forget about it, and forgot to mention it with my last two visits-stupid me.

Neuropathy can affect anyone, even the non-diabetic.

Yup.  I don't think there is much that can be done for it.  I will have to read more on it.

I had a good swim today even though I didn't push myself too hard.  Just has I walked up to the pool the person in the single lane got out and it was mine for my entire swim :)

My wrist did ok until it popped and then hurt for awhile.  Overall I think swimming was good for it.  Yesterday while I was walking, not as fast as usual, on the treadmill I actually had to hold my left hand/wrist up with my right one.

Hmmm.  I often have pain in both my wrists from old injuries but this has been different with the popping and crinkling-lol
