SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!

From the German production of Rocky (now in previews at the Winter Garden). Director Alex Timbers transforms the audience of the show into the audience for the climactic boxing match (first 12 rows of theater orchestra section relocated to bleachers on the stage, the ring slides out over the vacated seats, people in side seats are made to stand and crowd the ring). It's a thrilling effect that pulls the audience right into the action.

Good morning, all! I will shortly head off to the orchestra reading for Encores! MOST HAPPY FELLA. This will be the first time I've heard the parts played from my edition of the score. I'm a bit excited about it.

I went to the Kritzerland site to look at RED GOLD, and instead I got a link to ALBUM PRODUCED BY. I just tried again and got the same result.

Interesting ROCKY photo. Where the fat hell is the orchestra?

Comic books:
Little Lulu
Archie
Superman
Turok Son of Stone
Uncle Scrooge

Good morning, all.

My, what a frenzy y'all had last night.  Too bad it was the one night in the past week that I decided to let the TV, instead of the Android, put me to sleep.

Had a crazy night, too, all kinds of tossing and turning.  And yet, not a bad sleep overall.  Go figure.

If you want to.

I am devastated to hear about DR Dan M's problem. I can't imagine how the thieves could have succeeded if the bank were following proper ID protocol.

Seriously.  How can this happen?  I can't even imagine walking up and cashing a twenty dollar check without showing some ID -- including my drivers license -- to the teller, let alone something sizable.  And they aren't following up and checking their security tapes?  Do you have a local TV station that takes up things like this for investigation (read:  public bank embarrassment, which is the very last thing they want)?  This is the kind of thing that leaves one speechless.

I forgot to mention that the US Post office site now shows that my Warner Brthers package has arrived at my local post office. It only took nearly a week!

DR DAN M - I, too, can't understand how someone could cash such a check without proper ID - it sounds like he must have had inside help.

I agree with DR CHAS SMITH that a local television station with a Investigating Reporter might be interested in the story.

VIBES for DR MATTHEW for his time in Congress.

I'm completely baffled by DR Dan M's story: I would think the charities would receive copies of the canceled checks showing the endorsers' signature(s), and the bank that cashed the checks should have some record of when the transaction(s) occurred and what teller cashed the checks.

TOD:

Superman - I especially liked the stories that took place on Krypton.  NONE of the movies or tv shows have really captured the feeling that those comic books had.

I hated Charlton Comics.....terrible illustrations and stories.

I also liked the Tales of Terror or whatever it was called that had about three different stories in each issue...stories with surprise endings like Twilight Zone or O. Henry.

Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen were okay.....but Superman was the best.   Now and then I bought Batman if the cover was interesting.

Comic books were ten cents when I started buying them and were twenty cents when I stopped.  First increase was to twelve cents which was a shock.  That is when I bought a couple of Charlton Comics because they were still ten cents.....

Maybe the charities should send the checks where you have to sign for the envelope. So sorry! :(

DR Jennifer I did not read the funny blurb.  If I don't fall asleep soon I will begin the book having already finished my last one.

The blurb isn't funny. IT is downright one of the creepiest things i've ever read!

Jennifer my library eBook doesn't show the blurbs.  Sometimes books do but not tonight.

My e-books never show the blurbs but i wish they did. I end up checking on goodreads. Or I can go from my kindle onto amazon's kindle page to read it.  But sometimes I can't read it all because they give away too much. But i like to have an idea what the book is about before i read it. Just no spoilers, if that makes sense.

I agree. They should know which bank cashed them. And i think both Dan M's bank and the charities and the police would at least show some interest.

BK, like DR Elmore said if you go the Kritzerland site, and click on books, and click on RED GOLD it gives the info for ALBUM PRODUCED BY.  If you use the direct link that you gave it goes to the correct book.

TOD

I know the DRs will come up with many I've forgotten, but...

As a young'un:
Uncle Scrooge, Daffy Duck, most any other such character
Casper the Friendly Ghost
Archie
Little Lulu
Blondie (if it was published in comic book form - not sure)
...and many others.

As a teen:
Superman and all related.  (Never cared much for Batman then, and not at all for the other action heroes.)
Twilight Zone and certain movie tie-ins, probably Disney stuff for the most part.
Classics Illustrated -- some titles.

As an adult:
Nada.  Of course I wish I'd saved all the above.  (Don't we all.)  But I love looking at the occasional pieces I've come across for low prices over the years.  (I don't seek them out or spend serious bucks on them.)

I love the idea of graphic novels and such, but the only contemporary stuff I've been moved to buy have been a few American Splendors, Ghost World, some illustrated Poe...  and not too much else that I can think of.

DR Elmore:  Probably another brain fart, but what MOST HAPPY FELLA involvement of yours were you referring to?

Oy!  I should try to get to that.  And what else were they doing?

Edit:   IRMA LA DOUCE.  I've never gotten to know that one at all, yet, I'm afraid.

Thursday morning greetings!  Cold again here in SW Ohio, but the sun is shining and the snow stayed north of us this time.  I'm going out shopping today for a new dress to wear to a wedding at the end of the month.  It's a "black tie optional" affair and I'd planned to wear the dress I wore for Rob & Mary Linda's wedding.  Alas, that has become slightly snug (but not unwearable) and, even worse, is very close in color to what the mother of the groom (my sister-in-law Kathy) is wearing.  Pray for Rosemary's Baby...

TOD - I read KATY KEENE, who I remembered as a girl detective or reporter, but Wikipedia tells me was a movie star.  Also, the ARCHIE comics.
