No apologies necessary, DR Elmore  :-*

And dinner would be lovely...

You're so much nicer than I am!

I could meet you, Richard and ChasSmith somewhere in the area around City Center.  How's the ticket search going. The balcony's a climb but the sound is fantastic and tix are cheap!

We splurged and got 2 on the aisle in Row J of the mezzanine.

One of our favorite restaurants, La Bonne Soupe, is right down the street from City Center (55th, between 5th and 6th).

I'm fond of the Brooklyn Diner on 57th between Broadway and Seventh and their chicken pot pie!

That works, too!

By the way, we just had my homemade chicken pie for dinner - last night AND tonight.

Call me. Me. Hyde wishes to talk to you.

Nice dress, DR Ginny. It's very classic and versatile and it'll look great with black. I'm glad you found something you're happy with.

And then set off the fire alarm!

It was the only way to get you out of the steam room at the gym.

Thanks, DR Jeanne.  I'd be happier with a smaller size...

Thank you, DR MBarnum.  I'm sure there will be many photos.  Wait 'till you see what Fr. Richard gets to wear for this black tie affair.

And to end the day on a high note, my Warner Brothers DVDs arrived! I may watch SHOW BOAT tonight.

It is about time!

I thought of you as my friend relayed the story of what happened when her son was at the post office with his family, including his two little girls.

A woman walked in with an envelope saying something about Anthrax.  The PO employee was about to open it when my friend's son pretty much lost it to get him to stop and called for another manager.  At that point the lady left with her package.  The FBI tested for anthrax and think she was probably just a crazy lady.

I believe this idiot postal worker was a reject from your PO.

I, too, am appalled at DR Dan's story. I've wondered before where the liability resides when someone steals and cashes a check. Was the bank BofA? Some BofAs seem to go out of their way to squeeze their customers. Also, did the thieves go into Dan's bank to cash the checks? I'm not sure i could walk into a bank where I didn't have an account and cash a check.

I truly hope you get something out of this, Dan, even if it takes a while. And I agree completely with your attitude.

TOD - I read KATY KEENE, who I remembered as a girl detective or reporter, but Wikipedia tells me was a movie star.

I used to read Katy Keene also, which I'd forgotten about until I read this post. I think YOUR memory is correct, DR Ginny, and that Wikipedia is incorrect. I think she was a reporter.

Brenda Starr was a reporter.  I don't remember Katy Keene at all.

And did I mention that the 38 musicians playing the show sounded fantastic today?

That I want recorded.

Watching the end of The Yakuza. I only saw this edited for TV, which means I never saw the movie at all.

Katy Keene appears to be part of the Archie Romance series.  It was my first thought too when I looked at a picks of her.

Ah, yes. I'm familiar with that problem myself. I've resigned myself to having basics in a couple sizes. I find it difficult to find anything I like dressier than jeans, khakis, tops, and sweaters. Fortunately, I don't need dressy clothes often.
