For me, the only thing that can control and eventually wipe out that post-cold cough (which can go on for WEEKS if you let the hacking get to the stage where it's a habit) is Robitussin DM.  Couple of hits a day, and of course enjoy some lozenges whenever!  :)

Did you read the novel, "March," which won the Pulitzer a few years ago. It was about the father and what happened to him during the Civil War. Supposedly a wonderful book.

While I like the author of "March" I was not going to read it as I take great objection to authors stealing characters from other books and making them their own.

How could you sit through "Wicked?"

Why would anyone want to sit through "Wicked"? It just opened here for a three-week run and everybody's flocking to it. Ugh. (But I agree with the basis of your question.)

we loved Wicked - it works for teenager girls and those that once were teenage girls  :)

You know, I guess I passed my teenage girl years without even realizing it. :)

I just spent a wonderful two hours revisiting and reacquainting myself with LI'L ABNER, via the film.  A true delight.  Tomorrow I shall get out the score and recordings to solidify this LI'L reunion with one of my earliest favorite shows.

I also loved Wicked!  To each his own, I guess!

And I had never read the book.

The book is much darker than the musical

well listen to Wicked a couple of times, and watch Frozen a couple of times, and then  Princess Diary movies, the  four Twilight movies  and maybe a couple of showings of Mean Girls.... and you too can be a teenage girl!

The good news is this was a better year than last year.  The bad news is I have to pay more taxes.  I've decided to focus on the good news

Last night I saw a local production of 33 Variations.   I really liked it.   It made me want to buy a book of the 33 variations.

MUCH!  I read the book before the musical came out which is why I didn't buy tickets when I could have gotten them  cheap in previews--- it wasn't until former DR William F Orr gifted the Vixter with the OBC recording  (Christmas?  her birthday?) that we took any interest in the show -- we went to see it the day before the Republican Convention started in NYC - the original principals were  still in the show except for Joel Grey  and we LOVED it

tonight the latest release of The Great Gatsby was on the cable...
what in the world was the director thinking  with that music?

Right there in the beginning when it started in with the rap "music"... the movie was ruined for me

Back from a lovelier than lovely choral concert. As an audience member.

Tomorrow I am singing a solo in church (Bernstein's "Simple Song"), and then a big service and concert in the afternoon at a different church.

Tonight's viewing of Here's Edie has featured Ms. Adams singing "Jubilation T. Cornpone" in a western episode that featured an early skit from Rowan and Martin.

It was a beautiful day out today -  after I got home from the soup kitchen  Vixdad took me to the IHOP for lunch - I had one of their new  crepes, chicken, bacon, onions, white cheddar and I had them substitute mushrooms for the tomatoes

I only had a half order and it was too much ---   it was good but not as good as the chicken crepe with spinach and hollandaise sauce

what I mean to say was that it was a beautiful day and that after that heavy lunch I sat down int he recliner with a cup of tea prior to running errands and ended up taking an unexpected nap -  I didn't wake up until nearly 6:30  and so missed  the nicest day out that we have had since October
