Dealing with some yahoo who filed two Paypal claims - one for a title not scheduled to ship for two more weeks and one for one that was, according to our tracking information, delivered on March 12.  Needless to say, I've responded to paypal with the tracking info and written the buyer.

He is obviously having the problem I have when ordering from Kritzerland...when I order, the title I ordered before remains in the basket where the new title has just landed.  I have to be careful and remove the older title or I end up ordering it again.

I've had that happen to me, too.  I just make sure that I'm paying attention when I order anything.

No, not that at all.  He placed two separate orders on one day - that part was fine.  We shipped one and didn't ship the other - the helper got confused - but neither we're scheduled to ship for another week and a half.  The one we DID ship was delivered on the 12th in the UK - only four days after we shipped.  The other is waiting to ship, but I'm not shipping until he removes the claims - otherwise I'll refund him on that one order.

I broke down and finally purchased a Blu-Ray player. Specifically, a region free blu-ray player. It should be in my hands in around 3 to 7 days (according to the website)

Reason for finally getting one of these machines: ALL THAT HEAVEN ALLOWS is being released on BD. I love, love, love that movie, and it has some very nice special features including an interview with William Reynolds who played Jane Wyman's son in the movie and who appeared in a few other Douglas Sirk films.

And since KING KONG ESCAPES is also releasing on BD..well...!

Also, it seems that DVD companies are beginning to release Blu ray's without also releasing the title on regular DVD...so eventually, I was gonna have to make the switch.

Yup...here at the library, they haven't started buying any Blu-rays.  And I just ordered a Korean TV show from Amazon for the library, but we were sent 2 sets on DVD and 2 sets on Blu-ray!  What's that all about??  I now have to contact the seller, return the Blu-ray sets and hopefully, they have more copies of the DVD.  I hate it when that happens. :P

I wouldn't mind if it were my own personal purchase, but it's a pain for the library.

They've started buying Blu and Rays at the library here. A few of the more select titles, like Frances Ha, were only on Blu-Ray. Now it seems to be a mix of the two and the question is, which one is going to come in faster. I've been waiting forever it seems for The Long Ranger Blu-Ray -- and I want to see it only because the star, Armie Hammer, lives here in town and is fairly nice guy.

My local city library isn't very large and doesn't have a very deep selection of much of anything, but they had started adding select Blu-rays to the video collections a couple of years ago.

I sent an email asking a question of the person who runs our shop.....the answer included information I didn't need for questions I didn't ask....

MY QUESTION:  Is the turntable and frame still in working condition for Guys & Dolls?

THE ANSWER:  The turntable and frame are still there.  I don't know how many drops we have. Also using the turntable makes it very difficult to get large set pieces desks, benches, etc onstage.  So tell that to whoever is building it.

MY REPLY:  Okay. Thanks.

Finally read a bunch of reviews of Aladdin. What strikes me as odd are the number of high grades that the show received and yet the reviews themselves were really rather tepid about everything but a number in the first act.

If you gave me the choice of a so-so show with a tremendous eight-minute number in the first act (Aladdin) or a so-so-show with a final 30 minutes that's said to be a knockout (Rocky), I would probably go with the latter. No, I would see something else.

In retrospect, I suppose that my first clue should have been when, at the age of five, I "fell in love" with the little boy (in his underwear) on the Chutes and Ladders game board...

Our city library has a fairly nice selection of DVDs...50% of which were donated by me.

As you might imagine, they a goodly amount of Indian films. :)
