I don't know why, but I have absolutely no desire to see Russell Crowe is NOAH!  I think I would rather see Val Kilmer is MOSES.  Of course that has now become Christian Bale is MOSES!

The gimmick of selling seats only in pairs is a little much.

Do you know what I really hate? It's Facebook's messaging system. I may be there to post something or read updates, but it doesn't necessarily mean I want to have a conversation at the same time. If you want to talk to me, pick up the damned phone.

You can turn it off. click on the thingy on the right where it says "Chat" with a green dot and a number.  A little * will show up. Click on that and then options.  Click "turn off chat" and no one will know you are online

I'm still not well, but doing better. I only woke up coughing three times last night. A huge improvement over Friday night. Still don't have a lot of energy, but hopefully I will have by tomorrow

Here's an obituary:
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/james-rebhorn-dead-homeland-white-690464

That is super sad. I know him from Homeland. But the first time I saw him was many years ago. He played the creepiest character ever on Guiding Light. He was rapist Bradley Raines. I've never forgotten that character.

Thank you, Jennifer. I couldn't quite place where I knew him from before. And that was it. I loved Guiding Light back in those days.

BK, do you ever go to Du-par's these days?  If I recall, you became disenchanted with the pancakes some time back, and maybe the crowds there, too.

I rarely even click to see who is available to chat and didn't realize there was an option to turn it off.  Thanks.

I still can't tell if I have a horrible cold or allergies. My nose is running like mad. I feel feverish, and I can't stop sneezing.

I just watched the Hammer HORROR OF FRANKENSTEIN with Ralph Bates and Veronica Carlson, who mentioned in the accompanying interview that she now lives in Hilton Head. I could have met her tw years ago!  The film was very funny at times, although I would think when you are dealing with an insane monster maker, one thing you should never do is suggest "I'm talking to the authorities." Three people died after saying that.

Re: FANDANGO

One time, as I was about to use the Fandango service, I tripped on my way to the computer.  No movie for me.

And now, I'm going to bed.  I have been away from home since about 3:30 and I need to sleep.  Today, I get to sleep in!

I hope you slept in.  I would be lucky to sleep until 8:00.

Congrats on a fun and successful Toga night.

Thanks, Jane!  I did get some sleep.  I turned off my phone and didn't wake up until about 12:30. :D

I was so sick yesterday.

Threw up everything in my stomach.  I haven't done that in 40-50 years.

No idea what caused it.

Eating very light today.

From Bruce:
Quote
I just watched the first episode of Sherlock - now there is a show I can get behind - what fun and just as good as I've heard.

It took you long enough!

We love this series, especially the first episode and the last two episodes from this season.

I bought the first two seasons individually from Amazon.co.uk when they were first released.  Last month, I bought the third season, they sent the whole series...all three seasons!  Now, I have two copies each of seasons 1 and 2.  There are several other DVDs that I've gotten, not remembering that I already owned them.  I hate it when that happens. :P

. . . . I just watched the Hammer HORROR OF FRANKENSTEIN with Ralph Bates and Veronica Carlson . . . .

The Hammer films are great.  To tie in with that theme, last night I began my yearly pilgrimage through THE AVENGERS 1967-1968, the Diana Rigg years.  Christopher Lee was the guest star and played a character named Professsor Frank N. Stone, and his cyborg duplicate, a rather Frankensteinish monster.

At the Toga Party Fund Raiser, we had four different local bands for the entertainment.  One of the groups was called Argentina Weeps.  They were good...they sang rock & roll versions of show tunes!!  I guess they usually have two vocalists, but this time they only had one singer.  They sang songs from "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," "The Muppets" (the movie with Amy Adams and Jason Siegel), "Evita" (of course), "West Side Story," "The Rocky Horror Show" and several others.  For me, they were the highlight of the night!

But what if they had been followed by The Manhattan Transfer?

We couldn't afford them. ;)

Well, I have to go.  I need to get ready for the read-through of "Chamber Music" and ushering for Ann Hampton Callaway.  I can't wait!

Until later!

So, i'm on the horns of a dilemma on what to watch next:
The Hammer House of Horror BBC TV series
One of these BBC horrors:
The Ghost of Greville Lodge
The Secret of Crickley Hall
Crooked House
Supernatural
, a BBC series of eight horror stories

Last night I watched a ghost story featuring John Houston and Paul Scofield, Mr Corbett's Ghost, based on a children's story by Len Garfield. It was a neo-Dickens cautionary tale and very clever.

decisions, decisions . . .
