I just watched the Hammer HORROR OF FRANKENSTEIN with Ralph Bates and Veronica Carlson, who mentioned in the accompanying interview that she now lives in Hilton Head. I could have met her tw years ago! The film was very funny at times, although I would think when you are dealing with an insane monster maker, one thing you should never do is suggest "I'm talking to the authorities." There are several other DVDs that I've gotten, not remembering that I already owned them. I hate it when that happens.

I know if a ceiling dropped down in my living quarters I wouldn't feel to great from all the dust. I just hope it wasn't asbestos.

Mississippi has scheduled Michelle Byrom’s execution on Thursday for a murder she didn’t commit. Her son, Edward Byrom, has admitted to shooting and killing his father multiple times, none of which were ever disclosed into evidence.

Being killed once is bad enough, but multiple times must hurt!

TAR will be delayed by 45 minutes.

When I checked CBS at 7 p.m. to see if 60 MINUTES was starting on time....there was 9 minutes and 42 seconds of an NCAA basketball game going on. It took them more than 35 minutes to play it.

Watching "Blue Jasmine." Don't like Cate Blanchett in it. Her performance seems to be as artificial as her Katharine Hepburn was in "The Aviator." Naturally, she won an Oscar for both.

I think that's her style, artificial. I would add that she leaves me cold and uninvolved in any of the characters she's played, even in the Lord of the Rings movies (which I'm not that big a fan of anyway-- the movies, that is).

Furthermore, on a tangential note, while some actors (re the above named) are feted for reasons unclear (at least to me), I also find it difficult to fathom some of the choices that were made for The Criterion Collection. I still do not understand the inclusion of Kevin Smith's "Chasing Amy" for both Kevin Smith and for the movie. He certainly, most definitely, and unequivocally, DOES NOT belong amongst the true greats that are in that supposed elect/choice series, just as Blanchett, I do not believe will stand the test of time as has the woman she portrayed, Katharine Hepburn (or Audrey Hepburn, for that matter).

I'll disagree with you, DR Dan, on Kevin Smith and "Chasing Amy." Loved that movie, but I haven't seen it since it came out. I also loved "Clerks." And "Mallrats" was OK fun. I'm probably in a minority on this.
