And I am home from a looooong day. From 10:00 to 12:30 Rob rehearsed the orchestra on transpositions and cuts, then we broke for lunch and a move to another studio. From 2:00-6:15 we ran through all the music with the cast. I didn't get to talk to Cheyenne, but he sounds fantastic. I did spend  bit of time gossiping with the wonderful Jessica Molaskey, whom I hadn't seen since we recorded the Moross album "Windflowers."

I saw several friends and had a very good time. The orchestra sounds wonderful.

It has been pouring here the last few hours.  The rain was kind to us today, stopping before we left this morning and waiting until we returned in the afternoon to begin again.

TOD:

DVR:
This week's SURVIVOR, MODERN FAMILY, episodes of JULIA.

DVD:
AIR PATROL, AIR HOSTESS, BACK FROM THE DEAD

CD:
Mix CD of Hindi and Arabic pop songs

Mikey, you do realize that Diahann Carroll is African American, and not Indian.

Ya, it is just that I don't think I will have time to fit in any Bollywood movies this weekend...and I have about 40 episodes of JULIA on my DVR!

I also have a gay themed Palestinian film to watch this weekend titled THE BUBBLE. One of the stars of the film is a Facebook friend and he wants to know what I think of it.

In his newest movie he is playing Jesus.

Welcome, Rose Hovick, I just curious: is your real name Sandy Bainum?

It was snowing this morning. But it has been pouring all day.  I wonder if they changed the snow forecasts on Saturday and Sunday to rain.

CD from the library in my CD player here at work at the library:  the newest CD by Pink Martini performing with The Von Trapps (I think they're the great-grandkids of the famous Maria), Dream a Little Dream.  They actually sing ABBA's "Fernando" in Swedish, "The Lonely Goatherd" with guest vocalist Wayne Newton and Charmian Carr, and Charmian sings "Edelweiss" with the Von Trapps!  It's a delightful and delightfully different CD from Pink Martini.  Highly recommended!

I got that album for Christmas. I still haven't had time to listen to it. Yet another thing on hold until this paper is done.

Rose Hovick is not Sandy Bainum.  I know who it is, but I'll let her tell you if and when she's ready.  It's no one you know.

Just finished a fun noir called "The Hitch-hiker." Supposedly the only noir directed by a woman, Ida Lupino. Dark, gritty and a great beginning with no dialogue for the first five minutes -- except for the scream of a woman before she's shot.

I was just basking in the original cast album of MOST HAPPY FELLA.  The complete version.  What a stupendous piece of work.
