Trying to relax a bit - listening to Ennio Morricone's wonderful score to White Dog.

I won't be eating, however.

And I'm sure that However is eternally grateful.

Rob Stevens will definitely be joining the haineshisway.com family as the site's theatre reviewer, where he is free to call it as he sees it, even if he's reviewing something I'm involved in.  I think this will be a lot of fun.  When he debuts, we'll all spread the word all over the place.

I'm about to devour a rosemary/garlic rotisserie chicken from Stew Leonard's.

Okay, maybe not the whole damn chicken, but certainly a goodly portion thereof.

I was going to add that I know BK uses it. I'm glad to see he's helping others expand their vocabulary and phraseology.

Very strange things happening in town. I mentioned that my friend Steve had died yesterday. Steve had been the beneficiary of an event called Chefs 4 Chefs, in which a number of local chefs held a brunch to raise money for Steve's medical bills. Last year, when the event started, it was to benefit a young girl named Emma who was suffering from a brain tumor. Got the news today that Emma died this morning. So incredibly sad.

Thanks, George. I listened to those songs from Bridges. Really do enjoy them for their passion. Still not sold on Kelli O'Hara. She sounds a little too mannered, as if she's spending too much time on the accent.

And every time I hear "Francesca," I have to think of the parody, "Ditches of Madison County" with its porcine heroine, Pancetta Jackson.

My condolences to DRs Kate and John G on the loss of their friends. But how wonderful for Steve to have been so close to Barbara.

Great idea about Rob Stevens joining HHW. I'd like to see the Robby Awards, too.

A great idea, too, on the sheet music for TWO ROADS and the recording. I'm hoping to one day see a CD of The Songs of Richard Sherman & Bruce Kimmel. (Or, The Songs of Bruce Kimmel & Richard Sherman.)

The Sandy Bainum video was perfection itself. Not only did she sing beautifully, but she's so comfortable on stage. A fine example of cabaret at its best, IMHO.

Broadway Masterworks (Arkiv) is finally releasing Richard Rodgers' Androcles and the Lion on CD next month. I think someone else on this site was jonesing for that recording.

Watching The Reluctant Fundamentalist. Half an hour into it and it's not my favorite Mira Nair movie.

I remember reading that when it was recently playing regionally, another actress played the role because Kelli wasn't available (I don't remember why).  What I'd read was that that actress got fantastic reviews and people wondered if Kelli would be as good as she was.  I'd love to hear what she was like in the role.
