BK,

I don't know why, but they're remaking BEN-HUR.

Perhaps you could talk them into making it a musical?      :)

Good morning, all! I slept in because I could.

I have some work here today and a day to myself. I've got a couple of DVDs I want to watch and I need to track down Kim Criswell who's been sighted about Manhattan this week.  I think she leaves today for Chattanooga and if we can't get together, we can at least talk.

DR ChasSmith, another triumph!

DR Cillaliz, what a disaster! I can only wish the best for the aftermath. I have a memory that happened once to my parents around 50 years ago, when we kept a large freezer stocked in our basement.

DR George, A Room With A View is by a wonderful writer Marc Acito and Jeff Stock, whose score for The Triumph of Love is quite wonderful.  Jeff's a piece of work and a former friend.

DR TCB, a total of five in the house? Did they like the show?

Sorry DR Cillaliz. That is a big fear of mine that my freezer will lose power/get unplugged.  I have a lot of stuff in there.

Saturday morning greetings!  I will be E & T most of today because we're going to Lima for Mr. B's funeral.  Because tomorrow is a Sunday off for Fr. Richard, we'll be back tonight.

I really liked the BBC miniseries, which had events I do not recall in the Wyler film. I should read the novel again.

Sorry to hear about your freezer mishap, DR Cillaliz.  When Hurricane Ike knocked our power out in 2008, we were able to eat most of what we had in ours before it spoiled.

Good morning, all.

This post comes to you directly from Firestone in beautiful downtown Brookfield, Connecticut, where, after a crazy few days' delay, I finally have some time to sit here waiting for a diagnosis on my car's clutch.

NOT-SICK BK VIBES AND XYLOPHONES!!

(And a couple of them to myself while I'm at it, because I've gotten chilled a few times in this insane weather which I think made me susceptible to HS germs.  I feel okay during the day, but have the small scratchy throat thing going on at night.  Feels better today, but I'm being very careful.)

We had it happen a few times when the power went out or the freezer simply died-not fun, especially when you also lose your refrigerator.

If there is a lull in the Sadie Hawkins ballet, you could always have one of the character's head explode!  That would liven things up.

Question for BK

I remember  L'il Abner from the Sunday papers  -  do the college kids  (who I assume have no previous knowledge of Dogpatch and it's inhabitants) enjoy  and appreciate the show as much as those who  grew up with it?
