FJL  great news about Herringbone, both the recording and the production.  I too am a backer and I look forward to  my cd! (and hope I can have it autographed  if Mr Kennon is available for such things)

Have I posted yet???   :o

Don't think so, but I'm so tired I had to ask.  Here I am in Cincinnatah, looking forward to a great night's sleep after a full day on the road.

This was actually the best drive over here I've had in the last few years.  No road work, no traffic worth mentioning, nothing at all.

Got a full day of visiting tomorrow, including the birthday get-together for dear old dad.

For now, I'm going to grab me a few fresh White Castles, kick back a little bit, and fall asleep soon to the TV.

Being true to my word - relaxing.  Watched one motion picture - very good - and have been dozing on and off since the brief visit with the Overlord director.  About to watch a second motion picture and I'm sure I'll watch tonight's Mad Men.

I would have liked to go to that concert last night, BK.  Sounds like there were a lot of good performances.  I think it's the only time Jason Gould has performed other than with his mother.

Oh I have heard that he has performed on numerous occasions!

SUNDAY TRIVIA

I have posted this one before and it is one of my favorites. So if you know the answer from the previous time please allow someone to answer it.

This playwright wrote three plays that were produced on Broadway. One in the 60's, one in the 70's and one in the 80's. Each played one performance.

The play in the 80's also is notable for something else in Broadway history.

Name the playwright, the plays and what it is notable for.

Damn.

DR Ginny, I believe you saw "The Grass Harp" at Ann Arbor. Do you still have your program?

Indeed I did, DR Elmore, and I'm sure I still have the program.  Why do you ask?

My father took the photos so I don't know why I can't find any early ones of just my mother with me.  There are plenty of her with my two older siblings-the downside of being the youngest I suppose ;D

There are no baby pictures of me.  The youngest photo of me was when I was five years old and I was  doing THE LITTLEST ANGEL.  Maybe that is why I kept doing theater.

I would, DR Vixmom, but as Nora Ephron said, "I feel bad about my neck."

It's nice to be chowing down on the White Castles, which I can normally only do if I'm near one in NYC.  I would have gone for a 5-way at Skyline or Gold Star, but those are a mile or more down the road, and I just didn't have it in me.  Will get there tomorrow or Tuesday.

Can you scan it and send it to me? I need cast and musical program.

Were they lost or did your parent's not have a camera?

For Mother's Day - The song A MOTHER from Skip's show HERRINGBONE (by Tom Cone, Skip Kennon & Ellen Fitzhugh)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t35V_B9a4Ms
(here sung by John Jellison in a demo)

Flashpoint Theatre in Philly announced they're doing HERRINGBONE in July

Any idea when the recording with BD Wong will be released? I put money into it on Kickstarter.

Yes, it will be released Sept. 8 of this year, according to this post.

The answer is Oliver Hailey.......playwright
The plays:
First One Asleep Whistle 2/26/66
Father's Day 3/16/71
I Won't Dance 5/10/81

And I Won't Dance was the last play to be at the original Helen Hayes Theater which was one of five thetas to be torn down for the Marriot Hotel

Hence the clue reference to the first lady of the American Theater

Lost Booksellers of New York
By Larry McMurtry - May 10, 2014

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/05/11/opinion/sunday/lost-booksellers-of-new-york.html?hp&rref=opinion

Anyone been to his bookstores in Archer City, Texas?  DR John G.?  I have, once, and I think he's since had to consolidate the four stores into one, but it's an incredible way to spend a day, and a fine excuse to drive through some Texas farm and ranch country.  Not to mention, walking the town that's both the inspiration and filming location for THE LAST PICTURE SHOW (and TEXASVILLE).

Decided to treat myself to a chocolate peanut butter thing at K's Donuts - alas, one person came in and bought them all this morning.  A pox upon that person - seriously.  But I got one of their chocolate whipped cream things instead - so no pox upon me - seriously.

If someone comes in and buys them all why don't they make more?

YES!  This has been going on for quite some time.  Why haven't they adjusted for it?

I have been there. I made the pilgrimage. Spoke briefly with McMurtry, who seemed annoyed that I interrupted his work of shelving books, but then he seemed pleased when it was merely a question to find some author he must have liked. I wish I remember the author.

Allergies have been bad today (I sat under a pecan tree in full pollen yesterday).  So, I'm going to take a Benedryl and head off to bed.
