Cost us $39,000 for the whole project.....that is noise reducing insulation under the metal roof they are adding.  Between the insulation AND the old roof, it should be quieter than rain on the old roof....  It is not tin, not sure what the material is, but it is nice.

We won't need another roof unless the barn falls down.

That's some set, DR George!   Ebay?

Yup.  One set sold for only $35 or so (there was bidding).  Even though I paid about twice that with a buy-it-now option (just under $66 with shipping), for 29 discs (and the fact that there's no telling how much anyone is willing to pay for something like that), I don't think I really paid too much.  There's one buy-it-now set available now for $79.99.

Also, several of the individual discs from the set are available from $10-$15.  "Six by Sondheim" and "Normal Heart" (which are what I was really interested in) can start anywhere from $25 to as much as $50 EACH.

DR George I'm trying to figure out why you even began reading a book called "My Cousin, My Gastroenterologist"

It was just published, we had just received it, and I passed it on a cart that was going to be processed.  The title and the cover looked interesting, so I decided to take a chance and read something "different."  It was "different," alright.  Just not my cuppa.

;)

re firing the chauffeur - another great running gag not in the show, just the movie - it's in OUR show :)

Incredible!!!

I don't have a script, and I haven't seen it on stage since I was, uh.... 14 or 15?  But I never dreamed that any of those great gags were only written for the movie.  That's just wrong, and I'm glad you're putting 'em back!

DR Jrand63, you really do have Amish guys doing the roof?  If so, that's pretty great.

DR TCB the 'Hourglass' number was supposed to be done last night, but you weren't there.  I went ahead and did the Hot Box Girls part of the song, but you are scheduled for 8 p.m. this evening.....

NO BOOKS!

Yes, I forget the name of the company.....but they had the lowest bid and came with the highest recommendations.

You can see their hats and suspenders in this cropped photo. I guess that's some kind of ladder he's standing on....but the pitch of the roof is so steep, I wouldn't want to work on it....the current roof took weeks to finish about 25 years ago.   :D

Now that we can get married in Oregon, I am hoping that George Clooney will give up the silly idea of getting hitched to that girl, and finally accept my proposal.

That woman will do nothing but make his life miserable, and that is my job!

I'd been thinking that the strictest Amish work for and with each other, but not for the "English".  I was probably wrong.  What about the use of power tools and such?  Maybe it's all on how strict they choose to be.

And I am home! This is a sad day because i had to say goodbye to the PRIMROSE cast today, and I will miss them tomorrow and the concert on Thursday. I think it will be fun. We spent a lot of time today on the text and on some blocking moments.

Then, Rob and I went to a Mexican restaurant for a burrito.

DR JRand63, I know about the MQOS bar and restaurant in Manhattan. I wish I'd gone to it at some point.

I saw my super this morning on my way out. The supplies at here and I should have a repaired bathroom ceiling very soon.

I've got my contacts in, which at the moment aren't focusing so perfectly, and I thought DR Laura said she had spent a lovely couple of days out of town looking for brides.

If DR Vixmom had posted she was out looking for brides, you would have understood she meant birds.

The roof today....those Amish guys work fast.

That's because they don't keep stopping to update Facebook.

Had a ham and Swiss on rye with no fries, began writing the Kritzerland show commentary and also began crafting questions for the Richard Sherman event.  Now I'll get ready and be on my way to LACC.

And in other news, I drank the last diet Vernors last night, and I'm saving the last eight regular ones for, I dunno, a special occasion?

The market had in the diet Vernors today and Keith purchased some.  He has to use up his, what he calls tasteless, Canada Dry first.

Many of them seem tasteless next to Vernors.

The Barritts ginger beer is okay but not great.  At least you can taste the ginger.  But there's another off-taste in there that needs to be displaced by more ginger.

I have begun many a book aware the odds were I wouldn't finish.  Sometimes there is a pleasant surprise so it is worth the chance on the next one.
