Now that we can get married in Oregon, I am hoping that George Clooney will give up the silly idea of getting hitched to that girl, and finally accept my proposal.

That woman will do nothing but make his life miserable, and that is my job!

;D

I wasn't surprised he is engaged to her.  With his previous girlfriends he didn't look happy with them, with this one he did.

The roof today....those Amish guys work fast.

That's because they don't keep stopping to update Facebook.

;D

Keith told the dermatologist she needs wifi in the office & the staff has been saying the same thing, possibly for their own personal use and the reason wifi might not make it to the office.

When we lived in Pennsylvania we went to a popular, upscale, flee market that had a good number of Amish venders.  I became very friendly with one of the women who took the time to explain a number of the customs & what they could & could not do.

For one it was a good distance from Amish country to us and they don't drive.  It was ok to hire a driver.  They also went to movies.  Once again, acceptable as they weren't doing the work.

I remember when WITNESS came out and she had seen it.  She liked the movie except said the love story couldn't happen.

On the twentieth of May, I proclaim Liza Doolittle Day!

Today would have also been my parents 57th Wedding Anniversary.

Cost us $39,000 for the whole project.....that is noise reducing insulation under the metal roof they are adding.  Between the insulation AND the old roof, it should be quieter than rain on the old roof....  It is not tin, not sure what the material is, but it is nice.

We won't need another roof unless the barn falls down.

EMILY and THEODORE WHITMAN:
Listen to the rain on the roof go
EMILY:
Pit-pitty-pat--
THEODORE WHITMAN:
Pit-pitty-pat--
EMILY and THEODORE WHITMAN:
Pitty--
Sit, kitty cat,
We won't get home for hours.
Relax and
Listen to the rain on the roof go
EMILY:
Plunk-planka-plink-
THEODORE WHITMAN:
Plunk-planka-plink-
EMILY and THEODORE WHITMAN:
Planka-
Let's have a drink
And shelter from the showers.
Rain, rain, don't go away,
Fill up the sky.
Rain through the night.
We'll stay
Cozy and dry.
Listen to the rain on the roof go
Pit-pitty-pat-
(They kiss.)
Plunk-a-plink-
(kiss)
Plank-
(kiss)
Pity that
It's not a hurricane.
Listen "plink" to the
(kiss kiss)
Lovely rain.

Due to some paperwork snafu, I will not likely be able to walk the stage at graduation. If that happens, I may not go to upstate New York as planned. I'll still get the degree.

TOD:

Most of the stuff I like has usually been disliked by the public.
Most Robert Altman movies
The Wiz (the soundtrack is better than watching the movie, but I still enjoy parts of the movie)
Barcelona and Damsels in Distress, both from Whit Stillman

And now, I'm off.  Tonight is the Washington Center for the Performing Arts' Volunteer Appreciation Night!  I'm going downtown to be appreciated. ;) There'll be food and door prizes and they're going to announce their next season!

After that will be Theater Artists Olympia's monthly board meeting.  Hopefully, we'll have a quorum.  Several people are in rehearsals for shows and can't be there.  We'll see how it goes.

Be back later!

DWTS:

I figured it would come down to James Maslow and Meryl Davis, with Amy Purdy a possible dark horse.  Now I find that Candace Cameron Bure's "following" (including that of her brother, Kirk, apparently) are propping her up WAY above her abilities or true appeal.  She should have been gone before Danica, so something other than dancing appeal is at work here.

There have been lots of other celebs in the finals who weren't the best dancers.  If you are popular you can do well regardless of your judges scores.

I was happy when I got home that there was a message from the library.  The girl who got that book I wanted decided not to take it. So I turned around and picked it up at the library. Yippee!

I am looking forward to watching DWTS tonight.  Go Amy and Derek!  Though I will be happy for Maks if he wins with Meryl. I do like him (just not as much as I love Derek).

I somehow missed that you had decided to do the walk.  I hope you won't mind if you can't.

To celebrate Eliza Doolittle Day, I listened to Billy Porter's new CD, which just came in at the library. I'm really enjoying it. He sings some songs associated with Liza (But the World Goes 'Round) and Streisand (Don't Rain on My Parade), but he also does a nice version of "On the Street Where You Live."

I also really like his version of "Take the Moment," but I'm not entirely sold on his version of "Sing Happy" with Cyndi Lauper singing "Happy Days Are Here Again."

Back from auditions, round two.  It's not completely cast, so calls must be made.
