Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

then, early in this decade, the Gershwin estate, in what I believe was an attempt to extend the copyright, decided Porgy and Bess needed to be saved and turned into a musical theatre piece. Who cares what George, Ira or Dubose would think of the of this idea: they can't complain; THEY'RE ALL DEAD!. So the graverobbers dug up the body and cut it apart.

Just from that point of view, a gratuitous oldie:
(tune of Someone to Watch Over Me)

There are someones who we long to berate
Woe is our fate;
Make them think straight
The ones who watch our estate

All we want is for our heirs to behave
It feels like they’ve
Deepened our grave
The ones who watch our estate

Although it’s not as big an earner
As Rodgers or Lerner
Some props for the folks who create

You would think they had no food on their plate
Couldn’t they wait?
Oh how we hate
The ones who watch our estate

I enjoyed this, Fred.

This award was expected, I believe.

Yup.  It's one of the awards that are announced long before the broadcast.

Actually, I was  referring to one of the acting awards!

I also have some neighbors in another building, AKA The Frat Boys, who are OOOHHHH!!!ing  a lot. somehow I don't think it's the Tonys they're watching.

The NBA Finals.  Or just smoking dope.

Both good guesses, I'm sure.

I liked the opening comment from NPH last year about, "Welcome to the Tony Awars; or, as we call it, "Fifty Shades of Gay!"

Which reminds me , Jane, to answer your questions from yesterday, there was no costume award,  but a lot of us  like to dress up to match our theme and the Vixter and I each won a $20 Groupon coupon to a local pizzeria

I liked your outfit and it makes it more fun that way.  You are all set for a big pizza party.

Three months ago today, Malaysa Flight 370 disappeared.  Next month the search will be moved to Area 51.

Oh, I do too.  I don't mean to make light of the people onboard, but merely the inept way the entire search was handled.

July 19 is the 25th anniversary of the crash of United Flight 232 in Sioux City.   There's going to be a three day commemoration/memorial/what have we learned since then event.  If you don't remember it's the airplane that seemed to cartwheel down the runway.  112 died but 184 survived. A lot of the credit for that was given to the preparedness of our emergency services here who had done a drill 2 years earlier of a plane crash in almost the same place.  I've been invited to a reception where the flight crew will be present.

Other than one flight attendant who died in the crash and one of the flight crew who died a couple years ago, they are all expected to be here, as are many of the survivors.  They have a 25th reunion facebook page and it's been very interesting to see how many want to come back to Sioux City.

Why is HEDWIG considered a Revival when it has never been on Broadway before.  When LITTLE SHOP was on Broadway a few years back, was it also considered a Revival?
