I caught bits and pieces of the Tony telecast, and it seemed to be a mixed bag. Will be interested to read the other comments from the West Coast as things develop.

There were some moving moments amongst the various acceptance speeches.

Clint Eastwood is looking kind of frail.

I wonder if the "In Memoriam" was cut for time, or if they never planned to have one this year?

They appear to be using live musicians located in the same building this year.  If so, it is a welcome step forward.

Thanks for all the comments and concern about DR DD Zach.  He is low energy today, but he has eaten a little bit, with no resulting emanations from either end. So all in all, hopeful progress.     :)

Make sure he's drinking water.  When they've had those issues it's easy for them to get dehydrated

If/Then - from the title of the show to the song to Idina Menzel - everything I cannot stand about musical theatre today.  A mind-numbing "pop" anthem, with "today's" singing - not for me.

Oh, I think that's where I came in -- right at the end of that Menzel song.

Rocky - I understand that's what they thought they needed to do for the Tony broadcast, but really - all that music has nothing to do with the actual original musical score by Flaherty and Ahrens.  And while I'm sure that the match is spectacular in the theater, on the broadcast it just seemed small and not that interesting.

I forgot to mention Les Miz - just don't ever need to see it again, and certainly don't want to see it with projections.

I've never heard it sung by an old Jewish gentleman, however.

DR Cillaliz - glad that your family together time was meaningful for all, despite the sad circumstances.

It was sad at the funeral and at the visitation, but he was just shy of his 90th birthday and had an aggressive cancer.    He was doing well up until the last couple weeks and it would have been a lot more suffering if he had lingered.  So it was a sad occasion, but he had a good run.

Actually I'm not sure there was a lot of time to be that sad, there was also an asthma attack, a car accident, two drunk women who fell on water in the bathroom resulting in a trip to the ER at 3:30 AM and 9 stitches in a forehead, a grandson who's flight was cancelled from Atlanta to Sioux Falls and he was re-routed to Minneapolis, so there was a late night 6 1/2-7 hour round trip drive to get him so he would be there in time for the funeral..... Let's just say it was quite an eventful gathering.  It was just one thing after another and we ended up laughing a lot.

And no I was not in this car accident and I wasn't one of the drunk women.  I was at my parents' house sound asleep

I did some low-carb dieting a few weeks ago and dropped ten pounds.  (Not patting myself on the back.  First ten or whatever is always the easy part.)  Stopped it because I was traveling and what not, but am starting again tomorrow.

This post had nothing to do with the Tonys.

It does have something to do with the Snickers bar I just ate.

I don't know why I'm in such a food mood these days - I need to lose the weight I gained about ten pounds maybe even fifteen, but all I want to do is EAT.

I know what you mean.  I had a nice big salad already to dress for dinner.  But I was out and about and next thing I know I am in the drive-thru at McDonald's.

Watching Cabaret's opening number, I was instantly reminded why I loathed the revival.  I realize I was and am in the minority.
