was the first person to church  8 AM - set up coffee hour:  fortunately the Vixter and a couple of others showed up to help put out the table cloths, refill the sugar shakers,  brewed 6 carafes of coffee, cut up several cakes , pour a  3o or so glasses of juice  etc etc  etc

then served as assisting minister at the 9 AM service,   and as it is my month for Altar Guild , reset the altar for the next service and set up for the double baptism  then popped over to the chapel to set that up for the Misa , then back to coffee hour where  the Vixter was  busily serving the coffee before she needed to go home and get ready for work

cleaned up  a bit and reset  for the next coffee hour.... then served at that coffeehour  . Popped over to clear up the altars in the sanctuary and the chapel , then back to the social hall kitchen to take down coffeehour and wash and put everything away

and was the last one out and locked up the church at 1

then picked up Subway sandwiches for Vixdad and myself and home for lunch

and an unexpected nap

got caught on episodes of SCREEN DIRECTOR'S PLAYHOUSE, which airs from time to time on TCM. Rory Calhoun, Yvonne DeCarlo, McDonald Carey, June Vincent and a lot of other interesting actors directed by the likes of Tay Garnett and Byron Haskins.

I ironed my shirts while those were playing.

Now I need to catch up with 33 episodes of JULIA and about the same amount of episodes of MAVERICK. Then my DVR will be cleaned out a bit.

Gus, who I had a date with last week, came over this evening and we were going to watch a movie. After looking through my DVD collection, he was shocked at how many Mexican films I had...several he remembered from his childhood. However, we did not watch any of them.

I was kind of hoping he could help me muddle through one of the non-subtitled ones! :)

He laughed when seeing how many of the Masked Wrestler films I own.

Back from the show - Sandy came into her own this evening as a cabaret performer, completely owning the patter, the songs and the audience.  THAT's what we've been working toward for almost three years.

Aside from that, I finished watching NUN AND THE SERGEANT and then promptly called Kenny Miller so that he could give me the scoop on working on thIS film, which he said was a very fun time. He had a particularly good time with actor Robert Webber, and he loved Anna Sten.

He had forgotten that Steve Drexel was in the film, but remembered that Steve's parents owned PANZA'S LAZY SUSAN restaurant at the corner of Highland and another street that I have now forgotten. Agent Henry Willson would always take his clients there for lunch.

Well, today was the Olympia Pride Parade and the taking down of the PFLAG canopy.  We had beautiful weather that wasn't too warm....it was warm, but not too.  The parade was a lot of fun.  There were a lot of people watching.  My mom and her friend Mona were there, but I didn't wee see them until afterward.

I don't think  you should ever  wee your mother or her friend

AARRGGHH!!  Spoo!!

Never heard of Panza's Lazy Susan and I'm pretty knowledgable about restaurants in that area.

Just relaxing.  Sandy called and said she was on her way to Astroburger - wish she'd told me - I would have joined her.  I had half an artichoke (shared with Sami) and a chicken breast thing - very light.

I've been buying these little bags of bite-sized Snickers, Milky Way and Three Musketeers.  The bites are teeny-tiny and a couple satisfy the sweet tooth.  Of course, I eat the entire bag so I should just get the damn candy bar.

I was supposed to meet with the Theater Artists Olympia vice-president, but she hasn't texted or called back.  I don't know what happened, but hopefully she'll call or text.

maybe Jane has her  phone

All is well.  Laura (not DR Laura) came over and we set up the Survey Monkey survey that will serve as our mode of elections.  We set it up, tested it and then sent out the official e-mails.  Laura then actually voted, so that we could see how it looks after someone actually votes and it worked so easily.  After she voted on her phone, I logged in on my computer and voted.  By the time we looked at the account and information after my vote, we found that two MORE people had actually voted!  That's pretty cool.  It shows stats and charts and was very easy.  Now, we wait until everyone has voted...which will end next Monday.

I am already madly in love with Sandy, just from her CD's.  I am glad that she is now coming into her own as a cabaret singer.  I hope I can see her "live" some day.

Is there a nice club where you are TCB - we are willing to travel this show as long as the venue is good and we can fill it.

I apologize for being E & T for all of today.  I spent all day and into the evening in Seattle with an old friend and his partner.  After 26 or 27 years together, they will be officially married in September.  So, today we celebrated the fact that they will no longer be living in sin!

I will have to check around.  Nothing in Tacoma, but probably in Seattle.  I will have to see what I can find out.  Maybe DR George can be of help.

I don't know too much about what's available in Seattle or Tacoma, but I'm sure that there has to be someplace in Seattle that would be good.

I'd seen Cheryl Bentyne of The Manhattan Transfer perform her own show at The Triple Door.  It was pretty nice.
