Went to help an acquaintance clean out an old restaurant that he is converting into a new place. He has a great deal of stuff to be done and he's relying on Kickstarter for the financing, which worked out. He's also relying on friends to help with the place. Well, today that didn't work out so well because I was the only one to show up. I don't know how much I helped, but I enjoyed all but the roof work, which was done on the first day of the year here to pass 100 degrees.

Really looking forward to seeing Derek and Julianne Hough tonight.  I offered to go get mom and bring her to Sioux City to go to the show, but she didn't want to.  I'm sorry she won't see it, but I'm glad I don't have to spend the whole day in the car.

I can't wait to here how you like it.  These are my two favorite DWTS pros ever.

Me too!  I'm very excited about it.  It's about time to get ready to go.

Singdaw  I was carrying a small purse but the Vixter had a larger backpack purse with her and I assumed when I asked her to look after my  camera that she put it IN her  bag

She claims she  told me she hung it on my chair  but I never heard her  of course the hearing test does show how much hearing loss  I have especially in the upper ranges  so....

A logical assumption in my opinion.  It is time to begin to train her to make sure you heard anything important.

I have a feeling next time she will be sure her mom hears her, she had to be very concerned when it was missing

DR John, who is obviously a darn good friend, I did not imagine your work would include going onto the roof.  I am glad you are safely down from there.

You know they say everyone is a critic?

Seems so is Kismet. I discovered last night that he peed on some of my blu rays that were sitting on the floor in front of my TV.

My cat has thrown up on some of my stuff, but fortunately, not any A/V material.

DR Cillaliz - have you ever created a cat food cake for one of your critters?

No.  They are pretty picky about what they eat.  I don't think they would like it.   I don't really know their birthdays so we celebrate Callie in June, Boo in July and Ricky in October. That's about as close as I know.  I generally get them a new piece of cat furniture. Either a replacement for one that is trashed from being used as a scratching post (an appropriate use for cat furniture) or a new one.

My cat's a hand-me-down from a former housemate (and current co-worker), so he estimated that she (Ebonie) was born sometime in June or July in 2002, so she's just about 12 now.

Last week I visited the auto repair shop on the off chance that some clever person could find a cheap and easy fix to the Volvo's side mirror. The fellow who was there tried, but couldn't. He thinks it'll require replacing at least one part. The parts I saw on the Internet were $500-600, plus there would be labor required as well. Methinks it's time for some duct tape. Or chewing gum.

And I still think it was vandalism.

I have some metal epoxy that can hold up to 3500 psi.  You could look for something like that, if the broken part doesn't need to move...much more solid than duct tape or chewing gum.

;)

Topic of the Day:  probably Shania Twain.  My niece is a HUGE fan of hers and for quite a while, anytime that I had to drive my niece somewhere (before she finally got her own driver's license), we had to listen to Shania Twain, so I've sort of developed an appreciation for her.  She's certainly a very good singer and I think she's either written or co-written just about everything that she's recorded.

Well, I must be going.  I slept way too late (but I certainly needed it).  I was actually planning on going to work today to make up some time, but that didn't happen. ::) Anyway, I have to run an errand for my sister, then feed her cats and her boyfriend's cat and then go to the theater.

There's a cast party at someone's house tonight after the show, but I don't really know too many people in the cast (and not the hostess at all), so I probably won't go.  But, we'll see.

Have a good rest of the day, all!

Sounds like it was a wonderful Opening Night at the El Portal indeed! I wish my Friday theater-going experience was one sixteenth as good as yours last night.  It was not even close.

It was not an opening, but I was courted to see this new musical due to a friend in it. Two of us gritted our teeth through it. It was only 2 hours and 45 minutes long...zzzz. Every number was too long, tons of writing 101 mistakes all over the place and no direction (lots of bad acting class self-staging throughout). Other than that it was fine haha. But someone threw a ton of money at it and is still doing so. Lordy, can we have some of that for better projects, please??

Tonight I will be going to see the opening of that show that has the 23 yr old Applegate. Why, I ask myself? Because I have other friends in it who will be wonderful, like the lovely Cynthia Ferrer. Hopefully I will escape without strangling anyone.  :D

I long for one of those opening nights like you had last night.   :)

Oh and  HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO  CILLALIZ!!!

Feeling very blah today and the only thing that I wanted to do was watch some random stuff on Amazon.com or Netflix...and for some reason I cannot get either to work on the new tv today. So I instead watched a rather boring Bollywood 'thriller' from 1991. It caused me to take a couple of naps.  8)
