A friend brought by a copy of "Jodorowsky's DUNE" which is a very well done documentary as BK said in his previous notes. I find Mr. Jodorowsky extremely interesting as I have never seen any of his movies, just clips and trailers. It's great to see someone remain so vital and vigorous in the autumn of their years. If I ever get to my 80s, I would like to be as active and intelligent as he is. What a loss that he could not get his DUNE made. The documentary shows that elements of his proposed film (Frank Herbert apparently was on board) live on in other SF/Fantasy films from 1975 onward. As much as I have liked about half of David Lynch's oeuvre, his DUNE, even without the studio interference, is pretty awful, no matter the apologists' arguments.
I also started to watch Jodorowsky's "The Holy Mountain" which is quite strange yet visually striking. So far, I think it's more performance art than plot.
