"Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" was produced by United Artists.

Drat! I even did a web search before posting. I guess you can't trust everything you read on the Internet!      :P

Ah!  The current lay of the land regarding UA films is that MGM owns them and Fox Home Video releases them.  Releasing isn't the same as producing.  At the time of "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang", United Artists was a fully functional movie studio/company that produced and released its own films.

Happy Monday, all!

I was about to call in my reservation for the new Kritzerland show at the Federal this morning when I got an email from the writer of the vampire musical, the one I did a reading of in May. She had asked me recently to do another reading of it, and my first instinct was to say no. My part especially does not work, even though I get a pretty song which I have to sing twice. But I said yes, because she paid much more than most readings last time and I can't afford to turn this kind of thing down right now. Damn, I need to win the fricken lottery.  :D

Anyhoo, I get the rehearsal schedule: first full read through, Sunday night, Aug. 3rd (the night of the Kritzerland show) at 8:30PM. Really? Oy! Let's have a more inconvenient time - like 3AM!   ::)

I may try and make the Kritzerland show anyway, and go to rehearsal late, since they are in the same neighborhood. The read-through might go better with a couple of drinks in me.  :D

Now I should go and look at a list of which musical were 20th Century Fox.  :)

Funniest thing I saw on Facebook this weekend:

A fellow was talking about a regret he had about the way he handled a situation.  He'd like to make it right, but...as he said....he "burned his britches" behind him.

And today's devastating news: Morgan, my walking therapist, is leaving Manhattan. Her husband has taken a job with a law firm in Laredo, TX, and they leave in a month. I am very sorry to know this.

Bummer, I'm sorry.  Vibes you find someone you like just as much!!!!!

I hope the therapy place finds someone as wonderful as Morgan. I'm not looking.

Then vibes they assign you someone just as wonderful ;)

Bridges and britches sound alike.  I bet lots of people write britches.

RYacko we'll be through by eight-fifteen on this Kritzerland show - it's a bit shorter than usual as is the patter a bit briefer.

I got three hours more sleep, have printed out a LOT of orders, have been downloading a lot of Danish music and listening to it, and went and had a quesadilla and picked up a package.

It's like people saying "I'm gonna tow the line"!  What they mean is that they are going to "toe the line" (i.e., step up align their toes along the edge).

VIBES to Larry that you like the new therapist as much as Morgan.

And that walking soon becomes much easier and more comfortable.

Burning ones pants makes less sense than towing a line ;D

Let me get this straight:

Singdaw moves from NYC environs to Minnesota and now has no end of socializing, with many fine cultural events on his doorstep,

And, the Minnesota heat index is up to 105??

It's that catch phrase thing again: people repeat what they've heard, often without really understanding it. Your example, Ron, is I think particularly apt. I doubt that many people know what it refers to.
